I hope I am posting this in the right place because I am new to the boards...and new to Disney! My family of 4 is planning a January 2010 vacation to Disney World to celebrate our daughters' 4th and 8th birthdays. Wanna take a look at our plans so far and tell me what you think? We don't want our trip to be super planned out, so my outline is pretty basic and still has some big holes in it. We will be staying at Pop Century and in the parks from Sunday, January 10 through Saturday, January 16. We are on DDP. I'm worried about crowd levels because we will be there between the marathon and the MLK holiday. Remember, I'm new at this so please be honest and help me out.

Sunday January 10 (Lauren's birthday!)
morning/afternoon - Animal Kingdom (watch AK parade)
dinner - 6:30 - Chef Mickey's
evening - Magic Kingom (Magic Hours)

Monday, January 11
breakfast - 9:20 - CRT
morning/afternoon/evening - Magic Kingdom (watch Spectromagic)

Tuesday, January 12 (Hannah's birthday!)
morning/afternoon - Epcot
dinner - 6:00 - Teppan Edo
evening - Epcot (watch IllumiNations)

Wednesday, January 13
morning - Hollywood Studios
lunch - 12:30 - Hollywood and Vine
afternoon - Hollywood Studios (watch Black Party Bash)
evening - ??

Thursday, January 14
breakfast - 9:00 - 1900 Park Fare
morning/afternoon - Magic Kingdom
evening - Hollywood Studios (watch Fantasmic)

Friday, January 15
moning/afternoon - ??
dinner - 6:20 - Ohana (watch Wishes on beach after dinner)
evening - Magic Kingdom

Saturday, January 16
morning - ??
lunch - 11:50 - Liberty Tree Tavern
afternoon - Magic Kingdom (watch parade)
evening - ??

We will be heading back to Pop for naps and down time as necessary. I plan to let my girls decide where we go towards the end of the trip--wherever they want to head back to. Thanks for reading and giving me some feedback! :thumbsup2

You are right in the middle of my holiday...lol. We will be there the 7th to th 21st.
I like your idea of doing a favorites day or two at the end. My dd will be 8 when we are in the world.
Our first night we are going for dinner @ CRT.
If you have hoppers, maybe consider doing a morning @ MK and late afternoon/evening @ epcot. It will give you a break from all the 'rides' of MK and into some more sit down shows.

Our plans are VERY Similar! Except we don't have any kids.

1/10 Early dinner at DTD, then MK for EMH
1/11 Breakfast at Chef Mickeys, MK, Spectromagic, Dinner at Ohanna
1/12 Epcot, early dinner at Le Cellier, Illuminations
1/13 Breakfast at Boma, AK, early dinner at Earl of Sandwich @DTD, La Nouba
1/14 DHS, early dinner at Mama Melrose, Fantasmic
1/15 Favorites day
1/16 we leave

I noticed you don't have any days at Animal Kingdom...
