OK, quick post for me....I have kept up on my reading, just no time to talk

I FLEW home from work today hoping the Chocolate Fairy had arrived, since delivery was made to North Carolina yesterday...figured another day to make it this far west.
:( no chocolates in my mailbox. Oh well, maybe they only made it across the Mississippi today and they'll be here tomorrow::yes::

Must run to TiggersPal's house and pick up yummmy strawberries. Later kids!

kadaten, Here is a thread about Bichon Barb's name...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=469286

Oh, and Bichon Barb, I would be OK letting RRBB share a room with you, Lewski709, or RickinNYC... I might have a problem with Nephosaurus with you girls though...RickinNYC, well as long as he promised not to feed him to Bill (aka Prince of Darkness)...or got too many Chocolate Covered Espressp Beans.....

Speaking of which, RickinNYC, how is Joe doing??? PD to him...and you...

llebrekniT, Nephosaurus will post a recap when we get back to Dallas...and he never promised the basketball winner any Wonka Bars...

Good Night all.....

:bounce:

Good morning all, so does anyone have any plans for today? I need to get my garden work finished that I started yesterday and so does the DH. The bunny hutch part has been built and is in place DH just needs to put the wire mesh around the frame and over the top then sow the grass seed. I need to do a little more digging and then put the cables and water pipes in place and put the stones on the whole flower bed. That might take a while I think but our best friend is coming round this afternoon to help for a while (personally I think he just wants on of the oreos Lewski709 sent me!!) Then later I really must persuade DH he needs to think about getting his clothes ready for packing, not an easy job!!

ibouncetoo i'm sorry your chocolate fairy package hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it will arrive today. My oreos took nearly 2 weeks to arrive so I am sure it will be there soon.

I guess I should finish my cup of tea and get on with my jobs then. I'll leave a fresh pot of tea on the breakfast table on the way out with some freshly baked croissants (I'm trying to get in the European mood, look at my counter!!)

Oh I forgot to answer the QOTD: Our school holidays over here this year go like this: Start at beginning of September for 7 weeks, have 1 week off, 8 weeks back at school, 2 weeks off for christmas. Start again in January for 6 weeks, have 1 week off, back for 6 weeks, have 2 weeks off for Easter. Back for 6 weeks, have a week off, back for 6 weeks have 5 weeks off summer holiday. In addition to that we get 5 teacher training days (and yes we do have to train on these), 3 of these we are told when we have to take the other 2 can be decided by the individual school. There are also a couple of holidays in England called Bank Holidays, if we are not on a holiday then we get those days off too (they are usually Fridays to make a long weekend.)

Good morning everybody!

Ella has her 15 month check-up this morning. Which means shots!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_2.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_6.gif' border=0></a> And I'll get to explain the yellowish-brownish bruised area on her forehead. Luckily, her doctor is very down to earth, she'll laugh when I tell her about it.

QOTD: School days off - Daniel gets more religious holidays because he goes to a Catholic school. He gets 1/2 day this Fri. and also has Mon. off. Holly gets <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_90.gif' border=0></a>. Daniel gets fewer snow days and will thus be out for the year on May 28. Holly will be going until June 4th I think. The thing that has me currently ticked off is I just found out yesterday that Daniel's school is not taking a fall break - at all!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_24_1.gif' border=0></a> That means whatever days we go to WDW in Oct., he will be missing out on lots and lots of work. I don't know what I'm going to do about it.

I've got pictures! Lots and lots of pictures!

Cheeringmom, had I been around more lately, I would have said something about your absence. I did notice you missing, but since I've been gone I figured that there was a reason and that I am just out of the loop BECAUSE I'M STILL WAITING ON MY STINKIN' RECAP!!!

Wow Bichon Barb, just rode TOT, thanks! Oh and yeahhhhhhhhh I was scared.

Good morning everyone!

Just stopping in for a quickie!

Depplyinluv, bloomie43 & oddball27: You are probably at school now, but HI! :wave2:

Cheeringmom, WELCOME BACK!!!! I've been to Va. Tech a couple of times. Once for a concert & once for a WVU football game. It is a pretty campus. Has Sam taken ACT/SAT's yet?

kadaten, I think a lot of people have thought that about Barb's name. I guess I watch too many dog shows, 'cause I immediately thought "she must have those little yappin' dogs".

Well, I need to get Josh dressed for swimming class. Have a great day everyone!!

<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_1_116.gif' border=0></a> Look at my new countdown!

DHB don't forget to call me before you go!

Has Huggabaloo been here while I was away? I looked for him a few times while we were down there, but didn't see him anywhere. I wonder about that boy.

QOTD: What are your Easter plans?

We will color eggs Fri. night. The kids love that. We usually do about 2 dozen. We are going to my in-laws Sat. night and my parents Sun. night. As of right now, the weather looks pretty yucky, cold and rainy.:(

Time to get busy around the house.

See you guys later!

Hey DHB, looks like by the time you leave in Oct., I'll already be there.:teeth: Me thinks you need to tinker with you clock.

QOTD: After church we are going to my mother's for brunch, keeping the day very simple. Easter Bunny is going to be at my house for the first time as the kids are beginning to understand a little more.

Ohanafamily, thanks for the PD for Joe. He's doing fine, just has some pain in his leg still. It's bugging us because after the battery of tests, etc..., the doc still has no idea what is causing it.

And now the kicker??? I have some gout pain in my left instep and my right knee. Never had it in both legs before. Now, when I walk, I wobble like a weeble. Pain isn't too bad at all, just making me a bit unsteady. I think I must be walking like Mrs. Wiggins from the Carol Burnett Show.

I think I'll start the Official Whining Club of the Tag Fairy effective immediately. Dibs on the robe and fancy chair!

As for QOTD, Joe and I are having company. There's an elderly gentleman who used to religiously volunteer for me for a couple of years. He decided to retire in every capacity so he hasn't been around for a while but we still stay in touch. He doesn't have any family so he's coming over for a big Easter dinner. Gonna be fun.

To answer the QOTD see my countdown timer!!

Update on the water feaature installation. I got the whole thing put in, filled with water, turned pump on - in does not work!! So now I have to go back to the garden centre 45 minutes away to get a replacement!! Oh well.:wave2:

Maybe you should contact Charlie of Ground Force, eh? She's the water feature goddess!

Good Morning! I left y'all some chocolate chip muffins on the table this morning. They go great with the Graeter's ice cream!

I'm back in the world of the living ... thank goodness for muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, and pain killers!
<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_8.gif' alt='Take My Advice' border=0></a>NEVER bend over to pick up a shoe without bending your knees! Oh and a big thanks for all the get well wishes!!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_17_9.gif' alt='You're Too Kind' border=0></a>

llebrekniT - I can't remember if I said "welcome back" but if I didn't, now I did! PD to Ella this a.m., and to you, too. It's hard to watch your kids get stuck.

QOTD: We will dye Easter eggs either on Friday or Saturday. Since this is the first day I can walk standing up straight, I'll finally get the Easter decorations out for the kids to put up when they get home from school. My BIL and his family will come in on Sat. night from Cinci, and my SIL's brother and sister and their families will be here on Sunday after church for lunch and an Easter Egg hunt. I'm open to new recipes for yummy side dishes that are somewhat healthy! hint hint

A double dose of PD to Rick and Joe, too. Y'all get better soon, for goodness sake! If you ever need an Assistant Whiner, I'm up for the job!

Have a great day, my friends! I'm gonna go buy my swap stuff and get it in the mail by Friday. I guess I should pay bills, too... I wish they would just vanish! Anyone want to pay them for me??? hmmmm????

Danauk I need you at my house for some landscaping. REALLY!

cheeringmom the thought of you not just lurking  and being gone is dreadful, we can't bring ourselves to write about it. You were missed, of course. ;)

llebrekniT next month is my baby's 15mo shots. Owies. At least he doesn't have to get chicken pox shot now. AND at least you don't have to go to the local Health Dept to have them give shots, my insurance does NOT cover any well visits....baby or otherwise.

You may have answered this before, but why do Daniel and Holly attend different schools?

Ohana excuse the confusion on the bb bracket winnings. I hear Wonka and think Nepho, I can't forget his obsession.

Nepho I think there was a little protection for you there. ;)

QOTD Easter Egg Hunt and meal at in-laws every year the Saturday before the bunny comes to the house. I just have to bring a dish. Oh..............what to bring????? A side of some sort.

:wave2: TTFN

Temperment: Gentle mannered, sensitive, playful and affectionate are traits of the Bichon. The Bichon does not require a great deal of running around room and, as such, is a good dog for apartment dewelling. The Bichon is happiest when they are with their family. They are very unhappy when left alone for great lengths of time. The Bichon are not a yappie dog, however, they will announce strangers and the mailman. Bichons are intelligent and outgoing. They love to play in the house or outside in a fenced yard.

Breed Pluses: The Bichon has a non-shedding coat and is hypo-allergenic. Bichons are lap dogs that are loving companions. They are excellent "Therapy" dogs because of their affectionate, playful, and sensitive nature. Bichons love to entertain and expect everyone to love them including other animals. They are good with children as long as the children are not rough with them. Bichons are, after all, small dogs even though they are sturdy. No dog should have to tolerate mishandling or abuse from anyone. Bichons do very well with crate training and are happy to sleep in the crate at night. However, they enjoy sleeping in bed with you even more. (Don't forget they are small dogs and don't take up too much room.)

Breed Minuses: It is imperative that the Bichon is groomed otherwise the coat mats. This means regular brushing and care. You must be consistent and patient while housebreaking a Bichon. Housebreaking a dog works best if you confine the dog while you are not watching them or else you will end up with numerous "accidents".

Who should own this breed? Anyone who wants a loving family member to spend time with playing indoors or outside is a good candidate for a Bichon. Taking walks and being social with everyone are the favorite hobbies of the Bichon. They have no trouble bonding with new owners and bond almost immediately.

Who should not own this breed? Anyone who expects to ignore the Bichon, because they cannot be ignored or you will have a very unhappy dog with numerous problems. Anyone with an extremely busy lifestyle that does not include time for a loving companion should not consider a Bichon.

Well if Rick and Joe have the robe and chair of the Office Whine Club I have the tierra.

Well let's see. I'm PMSing. My son flipped out last night and was hitting me and throwing things around. He got into trouble on the bus. I have to try and get a hold of the psychologist, already saw the pschiatrist who upped his meds. AM reading the Explosive Child but have to put it down every few paragraphs because it describes my kid to much. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, boooo hooooo. Um I think that's it. Oh and I'm still breaking out as I'm nearing 40! OK done!
