deadheadbelle, Parenthood is the best movie. I always cry at the end when they are in the waiting room at the hospital.

You guys are on a roll, already.

QOTD road trips?
family road trip 2yrs ago to Arkansas to meet up with some friends we met in Mexico and some elder friends we used to bowl with before having kids, in fact I was JUST PG with Tye. On that trip, Grant stuck a Twizzler up his nose in Indy and we thought we would have to go the the ER. I got it out with tweezers, but it smushed up pretty good.....finally he heaved it out. :scared:

QOTD Candy bar? Nutrageous or Fast Break

QOTD after school activities?
Ok, I don't tell this much as I am embarrased of how big I am today but I swam competetively since age 4 up til 19. My DH likes to brag about me, I hate it. I went to Olympic trials and missed by tenths of seconds. I went to Texas at 14 for Olympic Training camp (2 weeks solo), Greece, all over the US, was chosen for Zone meets to swim for the state of Indiana several times. Partial scholarship to Ball State Univ my 1st year. Couldn't keep up with my grades and swimming (very demanding), so I had to quit. Anyone who can do sports and college has full respect from me.

Other than that, volleyball and softball in 7/8th grade. Organ lessons age 8-12....hated them. Ballet when I was knee hi to a grasshopper. Tennis 3yrs in HS. Just recently took up GOLF due to my line of work. Started snow skiing in 8th grade, went every year through HS. Water ski, when I can. I am athletic, I guess you could say. Girl Scouts one year, too fem for me. Powder Puff football in college.

Deadheadbelle Lainie is a dolly, love the hiar! I want to squeeze those cheeks. Now, we need to see yor other kids too.

llebrekniT Ella has great curls. I like Daniels hat and Holly is a STAR. ;)

:bounce:

Not necessarily chocolate. It can be any kind of candy bar. Of course, I don't know why anybody's favorite wouldn't be chocolate, but it doesn't have to be. For instance, I like PayDay's, they're very yummy.

kadaten, when you say Jacksonville, FL, do you mean that you guys were stationed at the Jax Naval Air Base?

We were too! We lived in Orange Park on Admiral's Walk Drive!

Oh! Good one! I love Nutrageous! They are soooo good. I like how it has real peanut butter inside, not a peanut butter cream, but real peanut butter!

Lewski! I am impressed! You are like a super-athlete! You go girl! I think it's great that you do all those sports. I am definetly not athletic. Walking and an occasional cart-wheel if I'm feeling spunky. That's about it for me. You rock!

Oh, here's a special message for RickinNYC.......Delswife wants you to finish your trip report!
She told me so, herself, tonight in DISchat. SO GET GOING BUSTER! .

THE Delswife likes my trip reports? I'm a STAR!

QOTD: Joe and I have been on several road trips. Although we don't own a car, we rent. And I don't drive. Nope, no license. So I have to sit in fear when he gets behind the wheel. It's pretty scary. We've been to upstate NY more times than I can count.

QOTD Part Deux: I love the good old Snickers bar. But my new favorite has to be the S'Mores candy bar. Now that's good eatin'!

The Revenge of the QOTD: As for after school activities, I was on a swim team for years and years. Was pretty darn good at it too. My only regret is the hated banana hammock. Yish.

And the other after school activity was... piano! I came home from swim practice one day and there was a brand spanking new piano in the living room. I stood there, stared at it suspiciously and asked what it was for. My mom was bubbling over with excitement and told me they bought it for me. Me???!!!

They had to hunt me down to make me practice. And whenever the instructor came over, they practically had to call the National Guard and a few tracking dogs to find me. I hated it with the passion of 10,000 suns.

datgummit ... I just lost my posts to you all, and I gotta go NOW (no Rick, not that kind of go). Go to meet my lunch friends an hour away.

i'll be back

p.s. llebrekniT, I'll forgive you about griping about breakfast if you'll send me a link to the cute smilies page(s)! :teeth:

I played Trumpet... I wasn't very good. I was always in the computer lab in HS...

BTW, RickinNYC are you any good? My Mom plays, we used to have a dog that would sneak into the room (she wasn't allowed in there), and lie under the Piano to listen to her play...The dog made her smile so much by enjoying the music, we allowed the dog to go into the normally pet free zone...

Oooh, another QOTD, are there any areas of your house the pets aren't allowed? Oh, and Danauk, since you keep the bunnies in a cage, I guess"Outside the cage counts...;)

I can't choose a favorite candy bar. Snickers, Hersey with Almonds, several Cadbury bars are wonderful, especially when dad brings home goodies from Ireland. This is not a fair question.

iluvtink smileycentral.com

Amos not allowed upstairs, at all.

QOTD:
Just about any candy bar with chocolate AND almonds, Snickers, Payday, Heath, Butterfinger...

RickinNYC, I tried that new Smores candy bar. Didn't like it. I don't think it really tasted like a REAL S'more.

QOTD:
Well, first let me introduce you to our "pet". This is Norman (and Bachosaurus)

He's a good watch dog for the first 10 seconds, until people figure out that he's stuffed. And considering he can't really get around on his own - we have to carry him - there aren't any rooms that are off limits to him.

Me too and me neither. Does that make sense? I was extremely disappointed. :(

Wait, maybe we should let Joe take this one....:teeth:

QOTD: Our Puggies are not allowed anywhere in the house except the kitchen/family room area and "their" room (aka the laundry room). That's it, that's all they need. They have a one acre yard to play and frolic in, they should consider themselves lucky we don't make them sleep outside.;)

(In my best Rex from Toy Story voice)

Greaaaaattttt, now I have guilt!

You guys are saying such nice things about your kids, and I'm comparing mine to Eric Cartman. ;) I don't want you to think that I condone swearing and flipping the bird. The point I was trying to make is that I just want my kids to know that they have to think for themselves and use their heads and their hearts. And just because someone else is does something, it's not okay for them to do it.

And yes, they really are good boys--A little mouthy at times--but hearts of gold.

Okay I'll shut up now. I feel better. ;)

QOTD: Road trips? All the time. We are campers!! We've pulled the camper to Maine and Virginia. We also drove 16 hours strait to Atlanta when the boys were 2 and 4!

Road trips without kids? Yup. Rob's job requires him to travel, and sometimes he drives instead of flying. Three trips I've gone on with him to keep him company include Boston, Parsippany NJ and Winston-Salem NC.

RRBB, that puppy looks real. That is the cutest thing.
:Pinkbounc My dogs have full rein over our home. Put it this way. They don't sleep with us, we sleep with them. ::yes:: When some women feel the need to mother a baby, they get pregnant. I did that twice. Now I just get a puppy when I feel that maternal urge. :)

Oh, after school activities: Brownies, Girl Scouts, Clarinet, Church Choir, Kappa Epsilon Phi (in high school), Synchronized Swimming  , DECA, one year of gymnastics and one year of track -- and I don't know how, because I stunk!!!!

Snickers bars and good dark chocolate. :hyper:

Are we talking about saying nice things about our kids? Ummm how about kids having behavioral issues at school and hiding under the desk and being taken to the nurses office to calm down, throwing rocks, spitting and talking back. Honey I could go onnnnnnn.

I love the S'mores bar! I actually think it tastes like s'mores!

But my favorite:

Well, I was so excited when I saw this candy bar, but I didn't even finish it. I took one bite and thought, hmmmm, that didn't really taste like anything. So I tried another bite and threw it away. No sense wasting calories on something that doesn't even taste good.

Let the "Great Smores candy bar" debate continue!

s&k'smom, our concerns look petty when compared to a lot of kids today. We have a friend who is an elementary teacher in a really bad neighborhood. You wouldn't believe the stories he tells. He once broke up a fight, and the mother of one of the kids told our friend "You just wait until my husband gets out of prison tomorrow!" Didn't the guy show up at school the next day and threaten to sue our friend.

And we are worried about our kids using the world "sucks"?
