Hi everybody!!

QOTD:
At work... a plain blue page, as we aren't able to download any personal wallpaper...as a download could have a virus or be inappropriate.

At home... on the desktop, a pix of Mal from "Who Wants to be a Villionaire" and on my laptop is a pix of one of our ferrets. Hubby has a pix of Tony Stewart's #20 Home Depot Chevy.

Actually the photo in the photo was taken in 1996 on my honeymoon. Jessie's birthday is about May 10, 2002. She won't like her car ride Monday--her full annual exam/ all day at the vet. She gets most of her boosters in the fall though. We got her before we did our first house closing. NC Beast gave her to me for my 30th birthday gift:earseek: .

Hi,

I'm NC Beast. Can you all taste the bbq yet?

NC Belle that poor baby. You should take her directly to the nearest Pet store and let her pick out something after her nasty nasty trip to the Dr. ;)

NC Belle, and NC Beast, I can pout with the best og them...Cute Puppy...

ohanafamily is seriously pouting. He hates having late dinner, and he was the reason it was late tonight. He forgot to turn on some security at work on something that doesn't have wires and it's name is a long number. He was kind of rattling off Techie Talk, when RRBB started talking about Basketball. If you could have seen the sour look on his face!!! He bought himself some new network analyzer toy ( he said that the prices came down but it was still overpriced. He then started talking that "Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah" talk that makes my head hurt. Will someone take me to the Dragon Firing range so I can vent...

oops, I forgot my manners...I am playing with a new toy that does all sorts of cool tests on computer networks, and can certify them.

Hi NC BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome, Don't just lurk, Join the conversation. Pick a color, and take a room...I am glad we are getting a few more couples to join us!!!!!

Yummy BBQ...Is the sauce Home made?

:bounce:

Hi NC Beast :wave2: and welcome to the TAGLIARCHY. So, what did you BBQ for us tonight? Whatever it is, I'm sure it's delicious. Besides, I'm starved.

QOTD: I've got a wallpaper of Mickey Mouse standing over on the left in a spotlight and most of the rest is black...like he's standing in a spotlight on a darkened stage. Makes me happy :)

When I'm really in planning mode or trying to distract the kiddos, I turn on MouseTrack countdown timer that stays on top of all the windows and shows a slideshow of all the Disney pictures I have on my computer...kinda neat to hear my 3y.o. DD exclaim "Look, Mommy! Fireworks! OOOOOOO! Cinderella Castle!! Mommy, can I go to Disney World? Please?" And I get to say, "Yes, honey, we're going in just a few weeks!"

Speaking of which, our trip got moved up a couple of weeks so I've got to change the countdown timer....decided to go early when DH can make the drive with us, even though we miss out on Illuminations cruise and CRT!! Boo Hoo! I did manage to get a cancellation for Cinderella dinner for DD, but it's late (8:10) and we may end up skipping.... After our 6 hour trip without DH last weekend, I KNOW I'll be so stressed if I make the 11.5 hour Disney trip alone that I won't have a good time....so we're going when he can drive down with us, too, rather than meet us there.

Quick question....have any of you ever shared a cruise with anyone? We're going to do that (I got a Wishes cancellation but not Illuminations that we wanted) but I'm wondering how much info I should get from these folks and how much I need to give out? You know...just in case they're axe murderers! And I haven't been chatting with them for weeks on end like here on the TAG....

NC Beast...

so is that true NC BBQ? What kind of sauce? Put on the meat while coooking or only after it's done and being served? Slaw or no slaw?

I'm a SC girl originally so I prefer Maurice Bessinger's from West Columbia (mustard base...unusual for the area...). But I live just a stone's throw from the NC border so we get lots of NC BBQ here. Current favorite is Malbon Brothers....sold out of a local gas station....but it was a BBQ place long before there were gas stations!! But I just can't seem to put slaw ON my meat...it goes on the plate beside it!!

I made my own grilling sauce consisting of lemon juice, vinegar, molasses, chili powder and cayenne pepper, and then hickory smoked the pork. Turned out pretty good. Do you like bbq?

kadaten, we shared an Illuminations cruise with someone from here on the DIS. She'd reserved it for herself and her child and posted that she had seats available. I really didn't have much contact with her, just a few emails. There were supposed to be another 2 families also, but only one of them showed up. We didn't have any problems - she ended up "eating" the cost of the 3 people that didn't show.

Do I like BBQ? ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: I say again ::yes::

I am from the South, aren't I? Well, you didn't know that.... So yes, I do love some good BBQ! Born/raised in SC so it was a local staple! If you're ever around the Columbia area, Maurice Bessinger's Piggy Park is the best BBQ I've ever had. It's kind of unusual...a mustard base with lots of apple cider vinegar, meat cooked in the sauce. One year some magazine (People, I think?) named it #1 BBQ in the country, and I have to agree. It started with one drive-in but he's got several throughout the Midlands area now. So good! I always keep a bottle or two of sauce on hand.... what I would do for a heaping plate of pulled pork and some hash over rice!! MMMMMMMM.....

DH's family is from NC, so they tend to like that style. Meat roasted until it's SO soft, and sauce poured over it when served.... usually a red or vinegar type sauce. We found a local joint that we all love, so I get lots of it when the relatives come to town :)

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Just saw my new counter! Down from 54 days to 40 days!!!!

You can't see me, but I'm doing my Happy Dance :cool1:

Forgot to say how good that sounds! Perhaps you'll share your secret sauce in our Tagliarchy cookbook?

RRBBSo did she just tell you where/when to show? And just see you there? Guess I'll need to plan on covering the extras just in case they don't show....might not be so money-saving after all.... but it's worth a shot!! Or would it have been cool to divide it by the number that did show? Probably more fair to do it they way your lady did.... since it wasn't your fault the other folks didn't show, you shouldn't have to cover them?

Welcome NC Beast! Pull up a chair and pick a color. BBQ? I wish!

Oh, QOTD.... my mind was on pics all day

We have Disney on ours. Right now wallpaper is Mickey through the years and Screensaver is a slideshow DH put together of pics I've gathered from all over the web. See! I can play with the 'puter!:teeth:

YEs, she just told me where we were supposed to meet and what time we had to be there by. I felt really bad that some didn't show. I was more than ready for her to split it by the number that did show up but she didn't.

I guess it's a good idea to be prepared for no-shows but hope everyone does.
