OMG cadburysmom please don't say that. I'm gonna be 40 and DD is going to preschool. (well actually the real reason is that I'm back to a size 8-10).

Seeing that I'm 56 pages behind  , I guess I'll just go back and read the last few pages. ;)

So, how is everyone doing this lovely morning? Camping was fun. Anytime you can go camping before Memorial Weekend, it's bonus. :teeth: Saturday we went to that mom and pop shop-eating corporate beast and stocked up on all sorts of things we needed for the trailer. Then we went to lunch and came back to lots of rain. But that's okay, we lounged around and read and took naps.

Oh, and we watched bad movies including THE ISLAND AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD (with that 1970's talk show host/actor/dude -- something Hartman???)

Lewski, I know you don't want to send me your flight info in an e-mail from work, so could you repost it or let me know which day you posted the info? Thanks sweetie! ::yes::

I am curious, RickinNYC, what is your ring size?

14 Kt yellow gold doesn't scratch nearly as bad as platinum. Platinum is real expensive right now, and we are actually doing a healthy business with Titanium..... The Titanium is a little more than the 14 K, but still a lot less than the Platinum.

As far as engraving on the band, inside the ring is easy on any of them, but if you want a fancy etching on the outside, that holds up a lot better on Platinum. Platinum is much more dense, and wears a lot better...

RRBB, I saw th water guy, tomorrow is our day. He will bring 2 cases (they are on special) of bottles for you. I asked about the tap water thing, he said to look on Ozarka; the chief ingredient is Ft. Worth Tap Water. I am sure they filter it etc., but theirs starts in their own well.

OK, now I have to e-mail Gidget Barfnose to see if they want to meet...Hmmm, I wonder if I should ask about Ohana's.....

Hi gang! Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!

As always, it's rush, rush, rush at work but I wanted to pop in and say howdy to my friends at the Tag...

And.. I also thought I'd share some news with you. It is now official! Massachusetts becomes the first state in the nation to allow gay marriage TODAY! :cloud9:

I feel like celebrating!!!!!!

Still catching up this morning, but I wanted to comment on this. I saw this on the news last night & I thought of you & Joe! How exciting. Do you think other states will follow suit?

My fingers are crossed but I'm not sure what other states have it on their docket. I really wish we could have our wedding here in New York but it won't happen by the time we're ready.

Nevertheless, I truly think this a step in the right direction. One state adopts same-sex marriage as lawful, other states realize it's not the downfall of civilization as we know it, and they follow suit.

I honestly never thought this would ever happen in my lifetime. I just thought I'd be forever condemned to "live with" someone and never be recognized as anything beyond a second class citizen. Being raised in a very conservative, Naval family, on military bases by staunch Catholic parents, that concept never really washed with me. Gay or not, I like to and want a traditional relationship. Looks like it's going to be pretty traditional soon enough!

White picket fence here we come!

YEAH MASSACHUSETTS!!!!!!

:jumping1:

I wonder if P'town will become the "IT" place for gay marriages. Anyone been to Provincetown? :Pinkbounc (All this talk of MA -- I can't until our Cape Cod/Gloucester vacation! :bounce: )

ohanafamily, I'm a 10.5 or 11, not 100% positive which but I do know it's one of those.

I'd honestly prefer a gold band, no etching or engraving on the outside. Nothing flashy. Nothing gigantic. But simple.

What exactly is Titanium anyway? Is it silver or gold in color?

I'm leaning towards yellow gold only because that screams "BACK OFF! MARRIED GUY HERE!" Silver can pass for a basic, no nonsense ring. Even if it's on the traditional wedding finger.

Titanium is like Platinum in color, a littlew darker. It also weighs a lot less.

Do you need me to send you a ring sizing kit?
;)

The moment I heard, I thought of RICK and Joe too! Wondered if this speed up the wedding plans :smooth:

I'm sure other states will follow Mass but definitely not any down here in the bible belt......I'm embarrassed to say my SIL's cousin (definitely crazy redneck) belongs to some strange Southern Baptist sect and they are going to Portland, Maine in two weeks to run a bible school to transform all the "gays" back to being "good Christians".....I actually tried to explain it doesn't work like that and people are what they are....but he just grinned and told me how "ignorant" I was:headache:.....he's a very scary guy :scared:

LOL! Nah, that won't be necessary. I'll just have the salesperson size me when it's time to buy the ring.

I can just picture it. Joe and I, two late 30's guys, noses pressed to the glass counter top of a jewelry store, pointing at rings, fogging up the glass, wiping the steam away with that squeaky "eee---aaaahhhh... eee----aaahhhh...." noise, whispering to each other. "What about that one? Nah, too ugly... Well, what about that one? Geez, my name is Rick, not Liberace. Ok, how about that? What's wrong with you? You want me to look like a magician? Fine, you pick it out, I'm going outside."

Ok, so all this talk about wedding rings brings me to a new QOTD: What does your engagement ring/wedding ring look like? How 'bout your spouse? My engagement ring is an oval shaped diamond. I love it so much! It's very simple. The wedding ring is a simple band, white gold. I didn't want yellow & neither did DH. I don't wear jewelry very much & I don't wear any other rings. DH's band is my dad's. My dad is weird. He & my mom are still married & everything, he just never wore it & when I said my band was going to be a plain white gold band, he said "why don't you use mine for your DH". OK, we took it, got it cleaned up & engraved.

Another QOTD: Is your ring engraved? The inside of my engagement band just has the date of our wedding 10-25-97

Oh my God! They're going to MAINE? No offense to the great state of Main but if those folks are going there to "convert", they really need to grow a pair!

Maine! LOLOL!!! C'mon! Tell them to come to NYC! They wouldn't last a New York Minute! Converting....

Oh, and tell your cousin he's welcome to start with trying to convert me! Thank God I now have a sense of humor about these people. I think my head would explode otherwise.

Bichon never been to P town but I here it is the capital. On the news they were showing how the business were "cashing in" and also hanging banners outside there doors etc. From what I understand it's really "embracing" the whole marriage idea.

Rick, white picket fence, you are so old fashioned.

What I find so touching is that a lot of couples are bringing there kids with them. How fantastic is it for the kids to see their parents get married.

RickinNYC - have you set a date yet???
Inquiring minds want to know! ::yes::

ohanafamilyHow do we get pictures posted on the TAGLIKINS' Family Photo page? There were a bunch of those wackos who came up to Lexington a couple of years ago to protest the Catholic Church & the priest who was baptising a gay couple's children. You may have heard of them, I think they used a surrogate & she ended up having twins or triplets (I can't remember the details). Anyway, it was ridiculous. I mean, come on people. You are supposed to be such "good Christians", yet you want to stop the baptism of babies!!! huh? I just don't get any of it. Why do you care? I am way to busy in my crazy life to worry about what other people are doing. "If ya ain't in my way, I ain't thinkin' about ya".
