Hi Guys! Just checking in....keeping busy with the in-laws....rescreened DH's grandmother's porch today, had a command potluck (mandatory fun  ) picnic today for which we were given 3 days' notice....

Finally got a sitter and went to dinner last night with the in-laws and friends :Pinkbounc Had a great time, sitter was great, now just have to find some more times that she's available ::yes::

Oh, and in-laws kept the kids so we could go to the command picnic today by ourselves, even though it was a family event. Felt a little bad when we got there and they'd hired a pony for rides for the kids :guilty: but we did have a nice time chatting with adults rather than chasing kids ::yes::

Heading to Nags Head tomorrow to look around, show them the house we picked for the family vacation, maybe get a little sun...

It's VERY hot here (95 today I think) so we may not last long....

Completely stumped on the baby photos except for mine, of course....I may just put the names in a hat and draw numbers ::yes:: Will probably have as good a chance as anyone ::yes::

Well, must off to bed. Kids will be up early.... Miss TAG-ing with you guys the last few days....have tried to catch up....

LOTS of PD to geffric. I'm so sorry :(

WELCOME to zurgswife!

Danauk Beautiful gardens!!

I see ohana and RRBB got off on their trip! Yay for them!! Wish I was going with....don't we all?!

Nitey-night! Catch you tomorrow or soon thereafter!

Depplyinluv, oddball27, FPgurl04, TalkisCheap and bloomie43, tonight I had dinner at The Five and Diner and there was a table of five girls celebrating their eighth grade graduation. I kept sneaking peeks at them and smiling to myself....thinking of you kids. I hope they didn't think I was some  lady!
What are you gals doing this summer to keep busy and stay out of trouble? If I can remember back that far at about age 14 I was meeting my friends downtown (small town Indiana circa 1964), having slumber and beach parties, baby sitting for $$, and I think that was the summer of the neighborhood marathon badminton tournament. I had a major crush on one of the boys who lived down the street and I remember he was wicked with a racket. I can still hear him yell, "Dive for it, Jackie!"

Ah, a nice stroll down memory lane ::yes::

Howdy folks!

It's very late here.....hope everyone had a wonderful evening. It's thundering here so I guess a storms upon us....

Bad news: I had TERRIBLE Indian food, yuck.....heads up to NC Belle and NC Beast, do NOT eat at the Indian restaurant on Hillsborough St...I think it was called India Mahal....waste of money I could have spent at WDW next week!

Good news: I saw SHREK! :bounce:
And boy, do I like green ogre movies :teeth: and, like everyone else on this board who's seen it, I couldn't help but think of Bichon Barb....you'll understand when you see it.....I don't want to give anything away...don't cha just hate when someone spoils the movie for ya! ::yes::

ibouncetoo I LOVE the movie Ladyhawk too and had a huge crush on Rutger Hauer after seeing it.....he is so handsome in that movie and Michelle Pfifer is so hauntingly beautiful........but you're right, Matthew Broderick definitely steals the show with his witty one liners....... it was a wonderful date movie with a great movie ending....shhhhhhh....don't want to give it away! :teeth:

ibouncetoo What sweet memories you have of summer growing up....thanks for sharing.......you're making me all teary-eyed and nostalgic.....I wish I was 14 again with my whole life ahead of me....but I mostly wish I had the cute figure of a 14 year old again......oh, well, being a member of the Big Butt Club is not so bad, at least I'm in good company! :teeth:

this summer my plans range from action moves and a road trip with dbf to doing a little pet sitting to make spending money

My sister started rolling in the $$ when word got out that she would pet sit/house sit. She had clients booking her for holiday weekends 6 months in advance. She came 'this close' to quiting her job and starting a pet sitting business, but then she got married, her own house and and mess of pets of her own, so that put an end to that! (She gave discounts to people who had swimming pools;) )

I'm just helping out some friends and a aunt going on trips and I may just do this part time:)

favorite line by MB....."not unlike escaping mother's womb....god what a memory!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had already been a big fan of Rutger's before that movie (I'd seen several that he made in Holland with Paul Verhoven, some quite bad:rolleyes: ) But for the rest of you guys his two most well known are Bladerunner (the white haired android) and The Hitcher...(or Hitchhiker?), psychopatich killer. He was also in a Sylverster Stalone movie, NightHawks....he played a terrorist (once again, the villain).

You are too funny... and such a Rutger fan....I think I did see the Hitcher movie but just don't remember much about it. Now you've got my wanting to rent Ladyhawk...guess I'll be heading over to Blockbuster in the morning.....I just can't resist a handsome knight in shining armor :teeth:

Well, it's really, really late out here on the east coast .....yawn....so I need to head for bed.

Nighty night all!:wave2:

OK, here's the official Rutger Hauer site.....as you can see his been a very busy boy for many years!

http://www.rutgerhauer.org/

I'd almost forgotten about the mini-series "Escape from Sobibor" and "Wanted Dead or Alive" and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER !!! etc, etc, etc.

I think I've mentioned in the past that he often makes appearances in my dreams, as himself, and always aludes to things we've done in previous dreams......once we escaped from a Russian prison...and he keeps reminding me about it. Sometimes I just LOVE MY SUBCONSCIOUS! ::yes::

Think I'll toddle off to bed and 'request' another Rutger dream!

Morning all,
Not many pages for me to catch up on over night, what happened?;)
Well it is another beautiful day here so we are heading over to the DIY store to get some more garden lights and a new BBQ.
No one answered my Vegas question :( So has anyone else been there?
OK, I guess I better go. A full English breakfast is waiting for you all on the table in the guest house.

Morning!! Sunday mornings are about 8 hours to early for this girl....why can't we have a midnight mass like my brothers college?!

Never been to Veges, neither has my family, one of my friends goes every summer....whatcha think of it Danauk?

Hmm, well, I WISH I had celebrated my 8th grade graduation...but alas, I haven't. Next year....Can I still tell you my plans for summer?! Well, I'm doing a track league all summer, a tennis league all summer, 2 seperate basketball camps each a week long, running a 5 mile race in Cape Cod(the course is right along my grandparents house and half my extended family runs in it, and then we have a HUGE cookout and go to their private beach....it's my favorite thing about summer!) Then my cousins are coming down for a week, and we'll make frequent walking trips to the beach and port. Also, we're going to visit my uncle and aunt because my aunt is having a baby on June 1st(wow, thats really soon!!) but it's sort of a combined trip to also drop of my brother at school. Then we're going on a couple of weekend trips to visit colleges for my sister. And then there are the unexpected things like last year I went on a few weekend trips with my best friend. We walk down to the beach from my house. We eat lots of candy and stay up way to late in like 7 person sleepovers.....Oh, the wonderfulness!!

Okay, well my parents are yelling at me because I'm not ready to go to church.... It doesn't take me THAT long!

I loved Vegas and did very little gambling whilst we we there. We plan to go back there for our 10th wedding anniversary in 4 years time. I loved looking in all the hotels and going on the rollercoasters - for our 2nd stay we stayed at the New York New York because of its rollercoaster. We also took a helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon which was amazing. But I think my favourite thing was indoor skydiving. You basically float above an aeroplane engine!!! I loved watching the shows too, plus the entertainment outside of the hotels e.g. the pirates battle at Treasure island (we could watch this from our room at the Venetian) plus there is exploding volcano at the Mirage and the dancing fountains set to music at the Bellagios (we couls see them from our room at the Venetain too). I also liked looking in the shopping malls. The Venetian had gondola rides going through it, the Aladdin had a thunder and rainstorm inside every half hour and the Forum shops at Ceasar Pallace (sp?) had statues and fountains that told stories which ice and fire shot from!! I loved staying in the Venetian, the room we were upgraded to was amazing, we had a complete view of the whole strip. For our next trip I would like to stay in the Bellagios.
I think I might go and look at my Vegas holiday pictures for a while!!
OK here is another picture from the trip.

Me and Pete at the Hoover Dam, that was quite cool. I didn't realise just how huge it was.

ibouncetoo how long would it take you to get to Vegas from Pheonix? When I went on that trip we also stayed with a friend who lived in Kingman, Arizona.

ah I can finally put our pretty names in color again!!

Danauk, Vegas sounds wicked cool! My dad goes there for business and he enjoyed what he was able to see...wants to take me mom there sometime. They always say once I'm in HS, they'll be able to go more places...what exactly does me in HS have to do with them traveling?! I dunno, but, they're planning on going to Spain, Paris, Italy...places like that....and leaving me home!!

Well, it's supposed to rain like everyday here...I'm off to do another sun dance!

Morning! I've been to Vegas three times. It's a one hour plane ride and maybe a five hour drive....maybe not quite 5 hours (I know it's slightly closer than Disneyland!) My first trip was with a guy I was dating (and what a sweetheart he was). My boss at the time had won a pair of airline tickets in a golf tournament and he gave them to me, so Howie picked up the hotel room and I experienced my first...ah.....um....trip to Vegas! The second trip was a 12 hour turn-around. Mess of us from work were having Friday night cocktails, someone said 'who wants to go to Vegas?' Someone else said, 'Can't, have to work tomorrow'. Another person said, 'We could be back by then'. Next thing you know, seven of us were on the 7PM flight to Vegas with a return flight for 7AM Sat morning. I saw Sigfried and Roy.....what a FANTASTIC show that was! Trip #3 was with my sister and DBIL to meet my brother, who had flown in with a group of friends from North Carolina. Haven't been back in quite a few years......but there is talk going around with PixieMagic and TiggersPal about a girls get-a-way weekend!

Speaking of Sigfried and Roy.........NBC has a new show for this fall, called "Father of the Pride". It's an animated (computer generated) show told from the perspective of the lions who perform in Vegas for Sigfried and Roy! Saw a short clip of it and it looks good! Yes, S&R are in it too!
