ibouncetoo, when we were at DL last year a CM (at my urging) spent a half hour telling me how much better the TOT was going to be. (we were in line to see Aladdin, and he was off duty, there to enjoy the show). He told us that they had all sorts of new sound enhancements, and the computer system had been updated...So I would love to hear a first-hand comparison. He also told us that fantasmic is much better ad DL because they have a bigger boat. I prefer it at EPCOT, but if you are going to see fantasmic see if it isn't too late to get a PS for the desert buffet and premium seating...I hate fighting crowds. Oh, and also, there is basicly 1 sit-down restaraunt per park, and we were told that they were going purely to PS seating in those places, so if you want to go to the restaraunt inside POTC then you need a PS. POTC is also nicer there; you can make out the words as they speak....

OK, Must Hyper Down...Sit in Hot Tub...Calm Down...It's A Small World After All......

OK, I'm better now...

Danauk, love the Fishees...RRBB is at the Aquarium with some friends from another board. Sad Parting..This board has been around a couple of years and was a great resource...

Deadheadbelle will I win any prozes for finishing best among TAGLIKINS?

BTW, Bichon Barb we might want to check out Hotwire Savings for vouchers. DH and I had one of the meal ones (not Q&C) and we fed 3 people on one at Rainforest Cafe. The voucher price was like 30.00, then I got like 7.00 back for some special joining thing and our meal would have cost over 75.00 with what we had. It was AWESOME!!!!! We got a appetizer, beverage (smoothie), meal and dessert. I think we picked the most expensive of all the items listed for everything.
:teeth:

QOTD: Does price affect your ordering decision for meals?

I am not trying to sound ridiculous here, but sometimes I'll pay whatever it costs to get what I want and other times, I am scroogy and will get a lunch item rather than a dinner....to keep the meal at about 20.00.

Maybe that is why I am so rich.

ohanafamily, I've done the dessert buffet at DL for fantasmic. It was really nice, but we had to run as soon as it was over to get to the kennel before closing. I would have liked to savor the balcony experience more. I prefer MGM fantasmic because you can SIT DOWN. Done DL a couple of three times and all that standing still just kills my joints!

I've made our PS's... Sat night dinner at Goofy's Kitchen and Sunday breakfast at Carnation Cafe (love those pancakes!). Sat will be in line for DCA about an hour before opening....anticipating big crowds, hope we're wrong on that. So lunch may be a quick stop over at Whitewater Snacks in the Grand Californian, though our dinner PS is at 5:30 so maybe I'll just get by on "treats" till then. ::yes::
Blue Bayou (the one attached to POTC) actually isn't one of my favorite places. I think it should be experienced once but the first time I was there (in the winter) I froze my hinnie off. And everyone raves about the Monty Cristo, which I thought was just a big wad of dough......not enough meat in it for this carnivour!

Don't worry, you will get a FULL REPORT on TOT. Over on the DL forum people who have ridden it are saying that it does not have the part where the elevator moves forward through the hallway and therefore the drop comes sooner than WDW people were expecting.

Hmmm. now I must go check out QVC....no wait, not allowed to buy crafting supplies! OMG, just realized I can look for Disney paper next weekend at World of Disney...I believe they have a crafting section now. Oh goodie....but I bet it's only stuff in 'kits', well, we'll see.........

Must go make eggs now, hope iluvtink comes back soon to tell me about the 'sepcials'!

Cost doesn't usually effect what I order, but I have been on dates where the girl has ordered the most expensive thing on the menu....

Oh, and Lewski709., these reservations you are making, how flexible are they; I know Disney let's you cancel like a month out w/o much penalty, I am curious as to where you are staying???

:bounce:

ibouncetoo It was mostly in kits when we went there, but RRBB can tell you better...She spent over an hour there deciding on gifts for DNs

Oh, and I wasn't impressed with the food at DL (esp Blue Bayou). WDW is much better

POFQ, silly for the OCT meet. Why? Cancellation within 6 or more days prior to arrival , refund deposit in full.

RE: Horse race betting.

I'm soooooo scientific.....I go by name or color of horse!

Let's see....I'd have to bet on Song of the Sword. That one 'resonates'.

When in doubt, bet on the grey horse!

Lewski709 for your QOTD, I'm the same as you. Sometimes I want what I want and I'll pay what's necessary. Other times I'll "work that menu" and skip beverages to bring in the bottom line.

Plus, you guys just reminded be that we need to book the rest of the October. Sat-Tues nights are at the timeshare, so need to book W/Th/F nights. Still waiting for AP/Disney visa codes for then...don't think they are out yet. Plus if all else fails, PixieMagic will priceline a resort, so we may end up at the DTD Hilton or the Gaylord Palms. (I believe there are only about 6 possible 'wins' in this category, Hilton, Gaylord Palms, Mariott, Swan/Dolphin, Windom Palace and possibly the Hyatt). Just a word of warning to anyone who might want to try this if you aren't staying on site. Go to biddingfortravel.com they walk you through everything you need to know about on line bidding and can give you the in's and out's on what to do. PixieMagic has gotten the DTD Hilton for $60 something in the past, we've gotten the Swan at a great rate and as you know, we had a FABULOUS room at the Gaylord Palms for $85.

OK, must really go make eggs now!

I'd just like to mention AGAIN that I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, loved POFQ!

I've thought about doing this before, but how do you feel about the transportation to the parks. I have heard you really don't have the flexibility that you do when staying on site.

:bored: :bored: I'm still bored. Where is that oddball27 when another girl is bored??
So this afternoon I went to Wal Mart (I hate food shopping at the weekend) and did very little else! I guess I had better be thinking about some dinner soon, not sure what to have though.
Tomorrow our friends are coming over in the afternoon and will stay for the evening. I'm not sure what else I will do tomorrow, is anyone doing anything interesting?
Well I guess I'll get back to being bored :bored: :bored:

Lewski709, You certainly would need a car if you were going this route. Although many of these resorts have shuttles, I'd hate to have to rely on them. Swan, Dolphin and Hilton would all work without a car, but you can't be guaranteed you'd get them. We've rented a car for most of our trips because we like to do the outlet malls. Florida car rental prices are much better than they are here and we have two people sharing the cost which helps. Are you and Barb staying till Wed or are you leaving on Tue? Oh, BTW here's the FAX # for POFQ, jot it down and about 4 days before your arrival you can FAX them any room requests you may have. It's 407-934-5353.

edited to add: I don't think this idea would work for the October trip for you two since it's a short stay and you really need the convenience of Disney transportation and want to be close to all the action packed adventures we are going to have. I'm kind of sorry we aren't doing the time share and the back end so we could do POFQ or whatever with you gals, but it wasn't available at the end of the week for the points I had to work with.

We leave the 13th. Bawb you are in charge of room requests!

Children do not allow boredom. Maybe you should change jobs and have one of your own. You might enjoy that more than having one and working with them. I think you'd be a great mum.
How about another photo?

That makes me happy!

Good, so we have all day/night Sun, Mon, Tues to play....but just two park days for you guys? (at this point, wait....didn't you post something about maybe getting an AP because of later family trips?) Hmmm. how much is a 3 day park hopper these days?....much more than just two one park admissions?....sorry, I'm rambling, I'm sure you gals are checking this all out.

Also, I edited my previous post while you were posting Lewski709...just in case you didn't see the extra info.

Lewski709 I love my job too much to change it so that will never happen. I love my kids at work but can't see me ever having any of my own. I'm bored at the moment but give it a few weeks and I will be too busy to stop. I decided to take a break from the theatre company I an in but we are having auditions for our next show soon which I am going to do. This means 3 hour rehearsals on a Wednesday and Thrsday plus 4 hours on a Sunday. I guess I won't be bored then.

I am thinking about an AP. I don't know the pricing yet. Haven't checked. I may have an extra day, cause Bawb wants an AM flight on the 13th and I want to stay and play as long as I can. Soooooooooo? I may be solo for 1/2 day. Hmmmmmmmm, what will I do?

SHOPPING!!!! If you don't have a pass for the parks and have to kill time, I know two axe murders who would love to take you to the outlet malls!!!!!!!

WHOA.....I think I was just channeling PixieMagic there for a second! I, of course, would spend that spare half day at a park::yes::
