Great job Lewski! That sounds like a great rate. :Pinkbounc

Let me know when you need the dough and how much. ::yes:: I'm going to go check flights for the 10th through the 13th.

So, how is this for a rough itinerary:

10th - Arrive, check in if we can, maybe do downtown Disney and Pleasure Island?

11th - Magic Kingdom, breakfast meet, lots of rides! Go back to hotel and rest or jacuzzi or pool. Later we could go to the Boardwalk or maybe one of the cool resorts or back to DD? Any ideas?

12th - Epcot! Back to Hotel and Epcot again. Food and Wine Festival.

Or we could do Epcot on the 11th and MK on the 12th.

Whatever! :Pinkbounc

Hi All!

Finally time to DIS this afternoon....only got 3 or 4 pages to catch up on, though, it looks like. Found a few things at the estate sale this morning, but no patio set :( Maybe next time.

Dropped DH at the airport and took the kiddos to the park. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL here! SUNNY and 77º if you can believe that

Going to read the pages I've missed, but had to respond to this late one from last night...

That can't be right. Well, maybe I'll just meet you there. However you are gonna get there. :p

First cake baked and designed in a bowling pin. Second cake baking now. Layering it with a jelly in between and then home made frosting. Frosting is done and waiting. These kids love my cakes and DH loves my frosting. Too bad I didn't make more than just enough this time.

OK, I've had my dinner (Thai chicken ginger and coconut rice.) So on to Monday PM - the Magic Kingdom.

<IMG width="400"SRC="http://www.pandkmorgan.co.uk/france%20080.jpg">

To get in to the Magic Kingdom you enter under the Disneyland hotel. The hotel is amazing and I would like to stay there one day. It is kind of like the GF but with a slightly more relaxed atmosphere.

Me in front of Le chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant - Sleeping Beauty's castle. As you can see it is very pink. It is a lot smaller than the castle at WDW but you can go up stairs to see the stained glass windows which show different fairy tale characters. Then you can go down to the basement to see

Next installment Tuesday and Wednesday in Paris.

Oh well the Las Vegas series has just started here so I'm going to watch it (I love that place and so want to go back there is so much more to do there than gamble)

I do NOT bake! But I like to cook. ::yes::

I was just on travelocity.com, but for some reason, my connection was disconnected. I looked like I could get AA to Chicago. Can you fly out of Chicago or connect there? Wouldn't it be great if we could be on the same flight??? :Pinkbounc

Let me go back and try to get that info. Be right back.

Forgot to ask....you guys at all interested in staying at Shades of Green? If I get to go, we could do that. (And if you're buying tickets...length of stay or regular PH, then I can get those discount either way.) The rooms are like Disney deluxes...2 doubles and a daybed in every room. They also have a small table, 4 chairs, and a free fridge in every room :) All rooms have a balcony except the first floor that all have a patio...out to the pool deck or golf course. We can't wait to see the rehab in less than 2 weeks!!

Our rate is currently $95/night (NO TAX) but will go up to $104/night in October....rate increase and DH gets promoted 1 July. It's right across from the Poly so we walk over there and catch the monorail for convenience :)

Uh, YES! I usually fly out of Chicago. I fly Spirit and the flight is 150.00, direct.

Grrr. I can't pull it up. It looks like I'd have to leave here at 6:30 in the morning :( , but the flight out of Chicago would leave at 9:32 a.m. It's flight number 4182. It gets you into MCO around 1:00 p.m.

If I AM going to be leaving that early in the morning, maybe we should do our PI night on the last night. ::yes::

Anyway, Eric is going to Kids Night Out at Lemoyne College. It's really cool. It's run by their mens basketball team. It runs from 6-10 p.m. The kids get to play ball, raquetball, swim, etc. I'm taking them, the neighbor is picking them up. Hunter is sleeping over his friend's house.

What the heck am I going to do with myself? If Rob were here, we'd say yee-haw and go out. But I'm not going out to dinner by myself. :( Maybe I'll rent an "R" movie :teeth: -- hey I don't get to see too many of those -- and pick up something good to eat. I think I have pina colada stuff in the freezer, but I don't think I have any tequilla. :(

I'm sorry. I'm thinking out loud again.

Ok...finally caught up!

llebrekniT GREAT recaps! And prayers and PD to your entire family!!

Danauk Welcome back! Love the pics...keep 'em coming :) Hope to get there someday myself :)

Bichon Barb Your October plans sound good. Are you guys thinking of doing Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party at all? If so, are you coordinating costumes??

ohanafamily or some other techie...HELP ME!!! You know how the DIS sends you an email when someone has replied to a thread you're subscribed to, but says you won't get another email until you visit the site again? WELL....I get an email for EVERY POST that gets posted...so when I log on lately, I have nearly 100 emails every time....SO MANY duplicates...(especially from the Chatty Cathys on the TAGLIARCHY ;) ) How can I end the deluge without completely getting rid of email notification?

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend!
Will check in later...going to go scarf some of DH's leftover Bday cake....it'll be stale before he gets back to eat it :) (Like I need an excuse...)

$150!!! No fair. The cheapest I can find is $226, and I have to change planes!

I'll keep looking.

How much is it to Chicago?

I know nothing about SOG. Is it like a DIS resort or DVC or something else?

Gotta run....baby crying, oven dinging. The wicked witch it dead.

"...(especially from the Chatty Cathys on the TAGLIARCHY )"I'm so sorry...I swear I am not real chatty....back to nap time...... :D

"She's gone where the goblins go...yo ho! ....."

Shades of Green used to be the Disney Golf Resort and/or the Disney Inn. It's located on the Palm and Magnolia golf courses, across the road from the Polynesian, inside the MK resort area. Disney sold it to the Army a few years ago and it's now a military only hotel (or Armed Forces Recreation Center as they're officially called). Nice place...deluxe hotel....the only difference is since they're not Disney, they can't do heavy theming. However, Disney didn't take out the Mickey head shaped pool when they left :) They just went through a big remodel...added rooms (had 287, now has 587!!), changed the whole look of the place. Here's a link to pics on Deb's site so you can see for yourself.

Pics at Deb's site

And the latest pics of the new construction....

OH...and DH's "free ticket" was actually 200 Delta $$ so as long as airfare is less than that, I'm covered. DH can't find out his schedule for October until he gets back from Germany....then we'll see how things are lookin' and whether MIL will be able to sit. (Talked to her yesterday, but she was having to put her dog down...they'd had her for 15 years :( ...so I didn't feel right brining it up. Will chat with her at Disney...)

Sorry Kadaten. I must have missed your posts earlier--I was too enthralled in airfaire. ;)

SOG is something to think about if you are going--which I hope you can! Can you walk to the monorail at the Poly?

Last Feb when we were at WDW, my in laws came and stayed with us a couple of nights. One of those nights Rob and I went out alone. We did a monorail happy hour run. It was fun. We parked at the Contemp, rode over to Poly, had one drink there, then rode over to GF, had one there, and then had dinner at the California Grill! :Pinkbounc That night was great! Expensive, but great!

kadaten did you say birthday cake???? Oh I love birthday cake. We has 2 birthdays on our trip to DLP last week and no cake:( We did have a few bottles of champagne though!!!!

Eric WANTED to take a shower before Kids Night Out. I'm thinking it's a girl thing. Should I be worried?

Hi,

Jumping in and jumping out.

Danauk, your pictures are just wonderful. Thanks so much! And I was skimming, I must confess... did I see that you or DH had a birthday in Paris? If so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! If it was someone else, Happy Birthday to him or her! :)

I really was hoping we might hear from llebrekniT about DMIL. I will just have to wait with everyone else. Big prayers flying out from this household that the darned doctor gets his priorities straight and finds the hospital from the golf course (did I read that that's where he was?) and takes care of whatever it is.

Barb, I remember when my Chris started taking showers before events. It was amazing, and yes, it was girls! ;)

Okay, gotta run. If there's any real news from llebrekniT or DHB, will someone PM me, because later I won't have time to read all the posts to find out if there's news.

THanks! Have a good evening, everyone!

In fact ohanafamily even did the grilling the last two nights. But honestly, if it were up to him we'd eat out all the time.
In some respects he thinks he's still a bachelor
