I like to check my User CP to see which threads I've subscribed to that have new posts. And I'm not sure the Email Notification option really works right - at least it doesn't for me. What I do instead is create a separate email account, like hotmail or yahoo, and set that as my email address for DIS notifications. I know it will fill up with all kinds of email, this way it doesn't interfere with my regular email and I only have to check it every once in a while - once a day, a couple times a week, etc. It's not a real solution but a work-around that does the job.

I really don't want to unsubscribe, but I may have to do that. It's just that the notification worked the "right" way (one notice of new posts until I checked the thread again) until maybe 2 weeks ago....that's when it went haywire. I figured I'd wait a bit to complain...maybe just some bug they were working out....but it does get me bogged down in messages! Oh well, if I do have to unsubscribe, no biggie....I'm certainly here often enough these days to check my subscribed threads folder

The hospital won't let any calls come in, DH's cell phone is being blocked out or something and they haven't called and given me an update. I have no idea what's going on!

I'm going to see if I can sweet talk someone into giving me some info.

Good luck! I know with all the new HIPPA regulations (privacy law) they are giving people HUGE run-arounds about releasing info.... But maybe you'll get a kind-hearted soul on the phone who will tell you something!!

I know how frustrating it is to wait....so we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers and hope that someone calls you with an update soon!

I got through to MIL's room where DHB said she couldn't talk because they were bringing MIL in the room right then. Aaarrgggh! Then I tried DH's phone again and this time it went through. Uh huh, he's been playing on his phone and that's why it wouldn't go through. He gave me the brush off as well, said he'd call me right back. Conspirators, trying to keep me in the dark, I swear it!

Still waiting and they both know I don't like waiting!

[COLOR=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/COLOR] & Deadheadbelle, I don't know what to say other than, well, Deadheadbelle knows how to be a pain in the patoot. Have her stay on them. I can remember when my dad had some Galstones removed, they didn't put the IV in good. I went out every half hour until they finally put in a machine that forced the antibiotics int him. I noticed it wasn't going in right, I found a different nurse, and...well...we wound up with a surgical nurse to redo the IV. My dad was feverish, and telling me he was hot (it was cool) he demanded that I go to the drugstore to get him a fam, and then screamed at me for wasting the money. The nurse didn't want me to plug it in...you get the picture?

The next time he went to that hospital, he started complaining that the room smelled...he wound up in the transplant ward with the heavy heppafilters...Ya don't mess with my dad...

Pixie Dust, and prayers...Deadheadbelle, watch the nurses until she is back to herself, some really do care, but to some it is a job that they are not paid enough to do.

Just talked to DH. They went in through her throat and put a stint in where the clip came out.

Now they are going to put her in surgery to clean her out and try to put something in her to drain her.

Before they said they would do one or the other, now they are doing both things to her.

They want to go ahead with the surgery right now. It's going to be a loonnngg night.

I second that comment. My mom is a nurse (has been for 25 years) and she will not ever stay in the hospital unless someone is with her all day to monitor stuff when she's out of it (that's ME...) and will not let a loved one stay in the hospital without constant supervision. In fact, she recommends that everyone hire a private nurse to accompany them if family isn't available, and to stay overnight with them....there's just too much that can go wrong and most units are SEVERELY understaffed!

Just got off the phone with DH again.

So they are going to go back in the same holes they already put in her to drain her and put a tube in from what I understand. They said this will make her all better and this will all be over with.

kadaten, saw what you said about the nurses. I hope I didn't say anything bad about nurses, I can't remember at this point, but if I did I'm sorry. I always have sympathy for them. With each of my babies I felt guilty for bothering them at all, especially after Ella when my legs stayed numb for a really long time and they had to lift me and practically carry me to the bathroom over and over.

I'll have to go back and see what I said, I sure don't want to offend any nurses out there. I think they are all saints! Them and teachers.

LOL, Mad4Mickey, I can't smell you up here in Ohio!!! Maybe you need to run take a dip in the hot tub if you're worried about emitting odd fragrances! I'm only here for a minute, to check on dear MIL.

ibouncetoo, glad you got there safe and sound. Cape May is one of my fav restaurants ... Disney loses money on me there with their shrimp!!! Have a wonderful time and I'll try not to upset the Mods while you're gone.

I'm so glad you've heard from DH, and I hate the DMIL has to go through all that, but thank God they're finally taking care of things, and you finally know what's going on. She and all of you are in my prayers, still. Wish I could live there so I could come babysit and you could go back to the hospital. I'm really sorry but I have to ask... where's Nancypants in all this? Maybe you can displace some frustration by telling us the latest! In the meantime, try to get some rest, girlfriend... you've got to be exhausted.

Just remember folks, she asked for it!

They have not called, not once.

I called them right away this morning when I found out. Donny said "OK".

Called them again when they were transporting her the first time. Again, he said "OK".

Called a third time when I hadn't heard anything in a really long time just to say "hey, haven't heard anything, I know what it's like waiting and just wanted to let you know that nothing is happening right now, she's in intense pain, they won't medicate her and the doc. isn't showing". This time it was Nancy and she said "OK, I'll tell Don, Griff has a soccer game, we're getting ready to leave". BYE!

That is the last time I have called them. I left them with my cell number, told them what hospital she would be going to and they have not called to check on her. NOT ONE TIME!

DH just called and asked if I would call them. I'm still in the "thinking about it" mode.

I know, I know, I have to do it.

Hope they can hear me in whatever fun party they are attending tonight.

Oh and DH called them when we were driving up to the hospital to explain the procedure that the doc. was going to do.

Don said maybe he'd come down tomorrow.
