Hey, TB, what are you paying for private school. If I tell him that and multiply it times two kids, maybe he'll realize that $5,500 a year in property taxes is NOT the end of the world.
... The county is going to raise sales tax from 7 percent to 8.25 percent.
Our state sales tax is 6%. Our house is assessed for a little more than yours and our yearly prop. tax is $1300 or so.1.79-2.19Originally posted by llebrekniT

gallon of milk - $2.69 but I usually get it for $1.69 with shoppers club-type discounts
gallon of gas I just paid $1.84 a gallon this morning
movie ticket (after 6:00) Yikes! Haven't been to a movie in the evening in ages. Probably $8.00
Happy Meal at McDonalds Another good question. Probably around $2.29?
2 liter of Coke Not a big soda purchaser. I could tell ya what a six pack of Amstel Light costs! ;0)

We have road/wheel taxes where I am too. We also have water, sewage, and rubbish bills.Originally posted by Danauk
I don't know the petrol price as I only fill up every 5 weeks as my drive to work is only 5 minutes. Plus I don't really look at the price on the pump as I need the fuel so have to pay what ever. As for grocery shopping. We do all our food shopping via the internet which the supermarket then delivers. I have a standard order each month which I only change slightly so I don't really pay attention to the price on the screen!! I just click away and add the items into my virtual basket!
