I just called her and she still wants me to go over and paint like planned. I had a difficult time calling b/c every time I picked up the phone to call, I started crying again. I was really getting annoyed at myself.

She said she hated to sit on the couch last night and watch TV without her dogs beside her. She has 2 cats. It's not the same, but at least she isn't completely alone in the house.

I am thankful that the dogs died instantly. They did not suffer. Those 2 loved me almost as much as they did my mother. They went crazy every time we got together. My daughter said at least they died happy, running.

Good morning to all of you. Not good here.




I was going to come on last night, but just couldn't get my thoughts together yet. I had a hard time getting myself to settle down.

HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE day yesterday. It started out fine. My mother and I were even getting along. We were painting her deck so we left the gate open a crack to go in and out. She must have forgot to check it. She mentioned what a beautiful day it was and that her dogs should come out with us. They noticed the crack right away and took off. They immediately went running full blast for the road. We were in the yard and started yelling, but they didn't acknowlede us. Then we heard the truck coming. I just knew what was going to happen. We tried yelling for them again, but they kept going. We heard the terrible thump. She started crying and I told her to stay there. I ran out and saw their still bodies in the road. She was screaming asking if they were all right. I told her again to stay there b/c she has never taken stressful or tramatic situations well and I've always had to take over, even as a kid. I ran out to them, but they were gone. She yells "which one is it" and I had to yell back "both of them" and then she lost it. She's yelling "are you sure, can I call the vet" I had to tell her "no, they are gone" Her screams of "OMG both my dog, both my dogs are dead" keeps ringing through my head. Actually her screams and cries brought back the memories of when my sister died and that was years ago. 2 very nice men stayed and had me get a box. They put them in the box and in the car. I took them to the vet for creamation. This all happened at 3pm. When I finally tried to go to bed and watch TV, I couldn't get that terrible picture out of my mind. Obviously I didn't get much sleep last night.

You were very strong in taking care of all that for your mother.

Hey! Our weather is nice today. I even have my windows open this morning and there's a nice breeze. I'm about to take my DD2 to the playground to enjoy the break from the heat (before it comes back at lunch time.)

I'm glad you are having a nice day. It's chilly, windy, rainy and dark here today. But we have that extratropical storm off the N.C/S.C. coast. Creativeamanda is closer to it. So I would imagine her weather is worse. I'm actually enjoying it though. I love weather like this. (weird, I know. ) It's a great flannel PJ day.

The rain is expected here tomorrow and this weekend.

To make things worse. My mother does not do well this time of year b/c next week is the anniversary of my sisters accident. Then 2 1/2 weeks later is the anniversary of her death. She did come inside today when she brought me home. She wanted to see my dogs. They made her laugh.

Our problem is going to be our satellite internet. I keep getting the "Suspected Satellite Linkage Problem" error with the note under it that the weather *could* be the problem. Ha!

SadieDog I'm so sorry to hear about the horrible day you had.

Thanks. Survivor starts tonight so that might help distract my mind. If my media center on my computer worked, I would record Kitchen Nightmares with Chef Gordon Ramsay and have that to look forward to tomorrow, but the thing is dead. I couldn't get my VCR to record last time I tried. Of course that would also require finding a tape. DVR would come in handy, however I don't know anything about them.
