Hey nanners. Been MIA for a bit. But I'm back...for now at least. We're driving down to visit BF's family in TN next week and I'm not sure if I'll have access to the DIS.

Happy Monday!

Happy to have you on for a little bit. :goodvibes

Have a great trip. :)

We're going to dry. It's two 10-hr. days in the car, and I'm ok with that. But it's in rural TN. RURAL. TN.

No stoplights. One four-way stop. Everything is on one street - E. Main St. (which begs the question - why not MAIN St.?) They go four-wheelin' and hunting. Neighbors are 10-15 min. apart. And, yes, they reconfirm that Southern stereotype - they hang at the Wal-Mart for fun.

I'm going to have the hardest time with that last one. I detest Wal-Mart. I'm a Target girl through and through. I could spend ALL DAY in Target.

The trip's not about me, though. We're going to visit BF's family, who he hasn't seen in years and years. And his grandfather is very ill, so it may be the last time he sees him before he passes. I'm looking forward to seeing and, in some cases, meeting his family for the first time. While he's out a-huntin' and a-wheelin', I'll be curled up on a blanket in some shade with a book or six.

I hope. :goodvibes

Wow, lots of chatter here already for a Monday morning! How's everyone? I've only been up for an hour but so far that hour has not gone well.....:headache: DH is in a mood over work. I can't blame him for how he feels but I can and do blame him for how he handles things. For crying out loud sometimes it's like having a 4th "boy". And he can act badly all he wants in front of me -- go ahead, vent away, we all need that -- but when he pitches his little fit in front of one of the kids.....Yeah, way to go, great example you're setting. Realizing of course that none of us are perfect, but this is a long-time, on-going thing. UGH!

Ok, sorry for MY vent! Can't post this stuff on FB, since DH is on there as well as several local work-related people.

Anywho, hope the rest of you have a great day!:thumbsup2

.

I've got a drama king myself so I totally feel you there. He yells at DD10 for things that he does himself. :sad2: Hope things got better!

TINK - Have a safe trip!

This sounds..........interesting. Such a different way of life, I want to hear all about this trip. That's great he is going to see his family after years. Sorry about his grandfather though. Oh and I love to walk around in Target too. Wide isles, so clean and organized.

It should be fun. They are actually "transplanted" Southerners. They lived most of their lives up here in Southeastern, MA and then moved to Kentucky, followed by Melbourne, FL, followed by TN.

They're building a new Target about 10 minutes from my house. I'll never have to visit a Wal-Mart again!!! :woohoo:

Because we'll be driving home on the 4th, we'll be celebrating our fireworks fun in either Blacksburg or Roanoke, VA. What's everyone else planning?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I wish our Target was a Super Target with the full grocery store. That reminds me, I have a $25 Target gift card from Mypoints.

I don't have plans for the 4th. Probably just go to our small town fireworks.

Good morning ya'll.

And especially good morning to all of the Mr. drama kings out there. I personally have never had any experience with one of those. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Tink, I can't wait to hear all about your experiences with the South. :goodvibes

Good morning, Smiley!

Morning, everyone! I'm working today, and afterwards we're having family over to celebrate Father's Day. It also happens to be our eight year anniversary, but that's sort of fallen by the wayside. We did exchange cards, and DH got me a little something, which was very sweet.

I tried to do the majority of the prep work for dinner last night so it would be mostly ready to go when I get home today. I still have a couple of things left to do, but not a big deal.

Where was I going with this? I have no idea. :lmao: Anyway, hope everyone has a great day! :goodvibes

They did, thanks. Day went much better after the tantrum....:rotfl2:

Not too much here. We don't usually go out and do anything on the Fourth. Once you've seen Wishes.....:confused3
:rotfl:

I was thinking recently about last year, when we were in FL, how there were some fireworks going off in our neighborhood (good ones!) and we could stand outside and see the higher ones from St. Petersburg......

Our Target isn't a "super" either. Matter of fact, I'm not sure I've ever been in one. All the ones I can remember just had a small grocery section off to one side.

I really like Target for the kids' clothes (as do they) but pricewise Walmart still has them beat on everyday items (household stuff).
Good morning ya'll.

...

Mornin' Smileybug! How's things with you?.....HOT!?!..:lmao: It's hot here too. I don't even look at the forecast anymore. I just know that it's going to be mid-90s, muggy and blazing hot until mid-September or so.

Again, Happy Nannerversary!

Maybe the nugget knows. Ask him. ;)

I only go to Wal-Mart if I have no other choice. I don't mind paying a little more. Because of my job, an uncle's job and some other info. I've researched/gotten, I just can't stomach paying them one penny.

But it's a personal preference! I know people love the bargains and I don't blame them. :goodvibes I'm sure there are plenty of people that feel the same way about the Tarjay.

I don't think our new Target is going to be a Super Target, though I wish it was. We don't have any of the Super ones around here but I'd love to see what their grocery section is like. Right now, because we have no convenient Trader Joe's or Whole Foods in our area, I'm a Stop & Shop Queen.

*whew!*....Just ran my approx. 2.5 miles. We all know I'm not venturing out down the road these days what with the excess of spider webs and all....So I moved the treadmill out on the front porch! It was taking up too much space in the living room anyway, and this is the perfect solution. It's under cover, so I'm out of the sun, but you get the full effect of running in a sauna out in that air! Treadmill running isn't quite the same as dragging your butt down the road, but at least I can continue to exercise over the summer.:thumbsup2

We will be going to Bay Lake Tower for the 4th. We're staying in a 3-bedroom Grand Villa with some friends for their DD's 11th birthday. Our passes won't be good, so no parks that weekend. Besides, it'll be too hot and packed. I am looking forward to seeing the special 4th fireworks from the room.

Tink - I'm a Target fan too. I just don't like Walmart for so many reasons. The most is the clientèle in our particular location. :scared1:

LegoMom - you are crazy woman. Running in heat. Running is bad enough, but in heat? Crazy.

I can't even use a treadmill. They make me very dizzy. I don't know if that is something your body could get used to or not.

Even though I like Target, I shop at Walmart too. Some of the people in there can be frustrating, but some of the prices I can't pass up. Especially without an income. :lmao:

Mean Queen, your plans for the 4th sound wonderful even without parks.

I must celebrate the arrival of a 2nd car. :yay: My daughter and I have been sharing a car for far too long which made things difficult when we both had to be somewhere at the same time. We had saved $2,000 out of our tax return and bought a Suburu Forester from someone we know. Yesterday it passed inspection. :dance3: We each have our own car!!! Perfect timing b/c she had to be at work this morning and my son has an orthodontist appt at 10am.

The first time I used the treadmill I did have some mild vertigo when I got off. But that hasn't happened again so it is getting better.

And WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!! on the new car!! Sounds like a great car for those tricky Maine winters! My in-laws (in NH) both have a Subaru. I need a new van and hopefully will have the tax refund next winter to do so. I've got my sights set on a Suburban.

Mean Queen, I agree, that weekend does sound great! Nothing like being able to watch right from your room. Honestly I could go to Disney for a week and not do the parks and still not get bored! (actually, I'm fairly sure my kids could too...once you get them in that resort pool, they don't want to get out!). It sure would be cheaper!!:lmao:

Color me jealous! That sounds like a lot of fun, I hope you enjoy it. :goodvibes

Hi everyone. I'm catching up.

I'm starting out by saying I was in a mood this morning... My DH starts complaining about not being able to find a pair of shorts he had put in the laundry. Sorry if you can't find them, as it is, I do a minimum of 12 loads of laundry a week, to keep up witht he 6 of us, and in the summer it's usually more since we have beach towels and wet clothes, and kids always changing... it can be more like 14-18 loads a week!! Really.. too bad if my laundry skills are not keeping up with your needs in a timely manner! Then I came to work, and was busy in one of my projects when my boss comes dancing in trying to tell me about something that is not a priority until Sept.... I'm working on JULY right now, I don't care what happens in Sept, and I'm going on vacation is sept, so give it to someone else... I want to say that, on top of it is interfering with my disney planning.. but I can't say it. So then these 2 caprenters walk in and ask me about something that my boss questioned them on, and I basically said.. are you kidding me! why are you over thinking this.. Simple is best. UGH! Really!
Ok.. whew... that was my rant.
I needed that.

Sadie Dog.... congrats on the new car!!! I wish I had a car with 2 seats.... (instead of a minivan). I cried the day I drove the minivan off the lot, I turned 40, and had a minivan with 4 kids... How cool is that:rolleyes:. Everytime my kids see a nice car they say when we get our license, we want '" name that cool car".. and I always say I'll take anything with only 2 seats. :woohoo: :lmao: "mom... how can you say that? I tell them, wait till you have kids and drive a minivan, and you'll see how cool it is..:cool2: (sorry if I'm offending anyone that actually likes driving a minivan.. but I'm not one of them).
Tink... have fun on your TN trip with BF. kep an eye out for the super -targets on the way. I'm more of a Target gal myself, but Walmart does have some things that I can't find at Targ, so we're there too.
Lego-mom.... are you insane? running in the heat? I would use that as an excuse not to run... but then again, i'm sure if you're running you're in better shape then me, so who am I to talk.. go for it girl!... but drink lots of fluids!
Smiley-bug... Morning... (oh.. it's afternoon already!... ) :flower3:
TK. happy anniversary... I hope you had a nice dinner. are you still cleaning? I remember doing that with all my babies too, something about making everything organized before the new chaos starts. It must be some kind of human instinct or something from our prehistoric caveman days.
Mean Queen... HEY... LUCKY!!! it must be great to be able to be close enough to take a little trip like that. Have you stayed at the grand villas before? are they nice? I'm sure they are.. how could they not be fabulous? You won't miss the parks, if I ever stay at a deluxe, I would want to get my moneys worth, and enjoy the resort too... and save the parks for when I stay at places that I don't care about the resort, and just need a place to sleep. You'll still get to see the fireworks, and enjoy everything else .

one of my co-workers just came in to tell me that they are going to be in disney the same week I'm going.. AND... they booked themselves on the same flights!!! Oh... man...
Well.. she's a nice girl, and it's just her and her DH.. and she kinda said, we probably wont even see each other at all except for at the airport.. I don't like being hijacked. How do you all feel about going with extended family or friends in a big group? last year we made the mistake of telling friends that we were going, and they met us there.. they live in Fla, and go more frequently.. but it's our once a year trip, so we wanted to do certain things.. and they kept telling us what they wanted to do. I hate that. Don't do it on my vacation.. do it on yours... and they crewed up a few ADRs too, becuase they couldn't add on, they said, oh, we;ll just show up, and they'll seat us.. well.. they did .. eventually.. we had to wait for over an hour each time.. I was mad!! I am a very social person, but when it comes to Disney.. watch out..,:scared1: I find it hard enough to get all six of us to want to do the same things at the same time, and who wants to what.. eat now, or later, and who has to go potty... ALL the time.. Man, it just bugs me. I love my friends and family, but it's like drinking and driving.. it doesn't mix. I like to do my disney trips without them. We havn't told them we're going again in Sept. I wont post it on FB, and will send them a different christmas card.. :rotfl:

We're staying local for the 4th.. basically because DH has to work, and I don't mind having a little breather before all heck breaks loose in July. We may or may not go see local fireworks.. but they are never as good as Disney.. a friend of ours is having a bday party, so we'll stop in there, and lay low for the rest of the weekend.

Ok.. enough of my rambling;) Enjoy your wednesday... I hope it's better than mine.
