Hello all! New to this thread...but not to the boards. :D

Was wandering around...looking for threads to read...in different places than I normally hang and stumbled upon this one!

I look forward to fun times/convos and making some new friends!

:welcome:

I'm off to bed now, but look forward to talking to you soon.

Hello! :flower3:

Just a primer to the thread - we love monkeys, clowns, and babnanas that know how to dance.:banana::banana: Okay, maybe just one out of those three for most others.

You are better than me. I used to wait until Sunday night to do my homework. It would have been nice if I did it earlier to get it over with, but I always put it off.

 well technically i only said that i have homework, not that i'm going to do the homework :rotfl: i'll get to it tomorrow...

so back to my play practice today; it was from 1-4:30 but since it's student directed, we had to have it at the park. it was kinda chilly but sunny so i took a sweatshirt just in case. i didn't put the sweatshirt on until about 3 or so. i just took the sweat shirt off about 5 minutes ago and...

can you say sun burned?

it looks like i was hit with a hot frying pan!

my right arm is a lot worse than my left and my nose is pretty pink, my part is burned too. :headache:

i would have never thought of sun block when i was getting ready this morning... do you have any idea how long it's been since i've felt the sun?!

*crosses fingers* *mumbles under breath* please tan, please tan, please tan, please tan, please tan, please!

Stick around--we're a great group here!

Need I remind you of the no monkeys and clowns rule on Sundays?

Well, you might remember, Shay, but it's a good bet that kimmar does NOT. :rotfl2:

35 this morning when I brought Dega out on her leash to pee. I'm already getting sick of having to bring her out leashed to go to the bathroom. However, I shouldn't complain, I know she is very sick of being stuck in a crate.

Cloudy and cold. Don't have to worry about sunburn here. Sure would be nice if it warmed up.

Crate? What'd you do, buy a small POD? ;) She'll be better and running free before you know it.

It's raining here today. There goes my plans to hit the beach for sunset.

:rotfl2: It's a giant embarrassing looking Dane crate. It's almost 4 feet tall. Takes up a LOT of space.

Whadda ya mean "crate"??!.....everybody knows a Buick belongs in the garage!!:rotfl2:

NO monkeys on Sundays.

For those of you out there getting sunburned: DON'T!!!!!! Trust me it will come back to haunt you. My MIL spent her entire childhood at the beach (before the days of sunblock) and she is now being treated for spots that pop up on her back, face and shoulders. DH is watching his own skin carefully, as he also spent his childhood summers at the beach (and in the '70s there was like, what, 2, 4 and 6 for sun "block?!"). Just be careful, please!!:flower3:

Mean Queen - sorry about your rain. Any chance of it clearing out before sunset?? Rainy here today also. Woke up to a line of storms rolling through around 6am......WAY too early on a Sunday....

But at least it's warm.....

.

creativeamanda, Charlie could walk right under Dega. I don't know how Charlie feels, but she loves other dogs.

LegoMom, good advice. I am a freak about sunblock.

Ahem, no Clowns on Sundays, either. And no Pennywise ever!

I'm not a freak about sunblock, but I don't stay outside long, either.

In my kids, however, I am a total freak about sunblock.

When I was a kid, my mom slathered me in suntan oil. She called me her little Coppertone kid. But once I hit my teen years, I rebelled against the sun and went for the Goth look. Though with my Native American background I rarely ever burned and I never get pale white. :hippie: My girls have my coloring, so I usually go with SPF 35 on them. DH has to have the highest possible. I always laugh and call him my "Poor little white guy." Since his grandmother used to refer to me as his Indian princess, I figure it's only fair. :hippie:

I don't see the rain going away today or tomorrow. But we need it. I'll just have to figure out something to do with the kids so we don't kill each other sitting inside all day.

Ok I'll concur on that one. He's just plain creepy even if you don't have a clown phobia.:scared: I still like the Postal Service ad with the clown in the living room.....

All this clown talk (as well as a certain other someone's TR.... *coughsniffamanda* is making we want to upgrade to POFQ for my trip.:sad2: I thought long and hard about it yesterday but decided against it at this late date. Besides, there are things at Pop that I definitely want to see and when it comes right down to it, they just have a bigger food court!! No beignets, of course, but bigger. So I'm sticking with Pop and happy about that.

STILL agonizing over the return flight.....:headache:

Also a heads up that some of us are completely obsesed with pirates.

One in particular.

Rum-soaked, dread-locked...savvy?

SadieDog, I hope your dog gets better soon, the poor thing. It's so tough to keep them confined like that.

Hi, everyone else! Just checking in for the weekend. Have a wicked craving (which is weird because I haven't had many of those this pregnancy) for a Reeses Pieces Sundae from Friendly's, so I'm going to talk the man into getting one for me. I think he'll agree since it'll involve getting ice cream for himself and DS as well. ;)

My feeling is that whenever you are pregnant and have a craving, there is an important reason for it, and you should get what you need.

oh trust me it's not like i was planning on burning... it's driving me up the wall! :headache:

at least i have this awesome lotion for sun burns... it's barely even red anymore, very light pink, almost like a, dare i say, tan!

That was always my thought. Though what could be important about seafood and crab subs, chocolate malts, and broccoli bites is beyond me.

.....but MOST IMPORTANT:

make sure to post PLENTY O' CHICKEN BUTTS.....
