I know you're all off watching American Idol, but... ;)

today I had my first trimester screening which involved an ultrasound and blood test. My parents and DS came along, and it was awesome to share with them.

Everything looks really good so far, and I got to see my little bean moving around like crazy. I'm always amazed when I see the baby. I have been through this before, obviously, but it's still a miracle to me that there's a tiny little life growing inside me. We got to hear the heartbeat and that was pretty darn cool.

DH had to work, so he wasn't able to make it, so it was nice to have my folks there. We all went out to dinner afterwards, and it really was a great day.

:rolleyes1

Oh, and I'm not off watching AI. Not my thing.:upsidedow

.

We are doing the Deluxe plan because we crunched the numbers. We were planning on 4TS meals that would not be part of the DDP because you get one TS per night with the regular. When I crunched the numbers, on top of the DDP we were going to be $650 out of pocket. The DxDP was $540 more, and in addition to the 4 extra TS meals, we will have the refillable mugs, which we always buy and are not accounted for in that $650 figure, and 3 more TS meals that we really wanted, including Narcoossee's.

Awww. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad. It's just that the last person that did this to me was so rude about it, it really rankled me. :lmao:

Thanks. I was just curious. I'm really interested in baby wearing this time, and possibly getting one of those slings. My biggest fear is that I would put it on wrong and drop the baby. Don't laugh. I'm totally serious. :confused3 Okay, you can laugh a little. I'm just worried my inherent klutziness would transfer to the sling. :lmao:

Amanda, may I ask why you went with deluxe as well? I know you can do more table service that way but I'm wondering what prompted the decision. Just curious.

I love my bank tellers, they are always so nice to me. I keep my bank in part because of the workers (and the free checking.)

I had a sling and a baby bjorn. The sling was great when she was little (and as a preemie, she was little for a while). Then when she got bigger and liked to see everything, we moved to the carrier/Baby Bjorn. I worried about the sling too. I practiced over the bed and couch to make sure I could walk and wear it without her falling out.

Amanda - sweeeeeeet dining plans! I'd love to try the Deluxe Dining sometime. We'd only be able to do that when we don't go with friends. Or maybe I'll do that for my next mommy's only trip. :woohoo:

AI was okay. No one great yet and no one so crazy they really stood out. I didn't care about Paula not being there for auditions, she's skipped those before. I'm waiting for when Ellen joins. That'll be the biggest change.

That's great your parents were there! And LegoMom, it's too early to see what the bean is genderwise. I had to wait until my 5th month.

Too early to tell, hon. That'll be the next ultrasound on March 9. Good lord, I would never keep that from you guys! :goodvibes

Very cool. I was totally being nosy, but thanks for taking the time to explain it to me. I've always thought about the deluxe plan, but mostly because you can use 2TS to go to the signatures.

I hear you! :goodvibes

Glad to know I'm not the only one worried about dropping a baby. I would definitely have to do practice runs like you did. :thumbsup2

My parents feel really honored to be part of the experience, so I was glad I invited them.

Good morning, babnanas!

Today's my Monday and I am praying that what I have is not the beginning of a sinus infeciton. Yesterday I was a little congested with a mild headache. Today I'm a lot congested with a huge sinus pressure headache right across my forhead.

Yuck. I'm hoping tylenol will help since it's one of the only things I can take right now.

TK--I hope you feel better and don't end up feeling worse.

Ya'll, keep a 10 year old in your thoughts/prayers. The lady who helped me with cheerleading in the fall passed away yesterday. I don't know the details, but her daughter and my daughter have been friends since they were in daycare together. I can't imagine how things are for Hannah and Kenny (the ex-husband), but they certainly need every positive thought and prayer they can have.

Btw--BillieJo was in her early thirties.

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

creativeamanda, That is so sad.

TK, I'm sure your parents were over the moon to be able to see the baby. I know I would be. :goodvibes I hope you feel better as the day goes along. :goodvibes

Hmm, I wonder then if it depends on the doctor or the equipment? I got DS8's gender at my 3-month ultrasound and I remember being so happy to know, because I was able to tell my step-mom before she passed away.:sad1:

Well happy Wednesday y'all! Have a good one!

....oh, we never thought of THAT option: "girl", "boy", "princess-pirate", or "bean".....:teeth:

...yup. I know what ya mean...:guilty:

I think I actually enjoyed the show more without Paula there. I have found her to be irritating the last few years. For me I think the season will be fine. I'm actually looking forward to Ellen being on. I think she will be able to juggle compassion and comedy with the hard truth. Who knows, we might even see a bit of a Simon side to her.

Oh! It's totally easy. There's a smidge of a learning curve at first but then it becomes second nature. We have both peanut shell type slings, and 2 Sniugli-type carriers. I've wanted to try a Mei Tai, but I just never bought one for some reason. They totally rock for WDW.

I was even bad and bought a new sling for the new kiddo, but I'm afraid I've jinxed it since I'm only 6 weeks pregnant!

TK--I hope you feel better and don't end up feeling worse.

Unfortuantely, my sinus pressure has gotten worse throughout the day. I guess the plus is that I'm constantly blowing my nose, so hopefully all this yuck is draining out. Blech. My head is killing me.

And normally I'm not so cranky, but I'm a big baby right now. I'm planning to catch up here and then go to bed.

Btw--BillieJo was in her early thirties.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I will keep your family and hers in my thoughts and prayers.

They really enjoyed it, so I was happy to share it with them.

I feel worse, but thank you for the sentiment. I'm hoping if I get a good night's sleep tomorrow will be better.

I have lots of names for the little nugget. :lmao:

First of all, congratulations!!! :goodvibes

Secondly, thanks for the vote of confidence. Reading what you wrote, you make it sound so easy! :thumbsup2

Good morning Smileybug! Mornin' everone!

I talked to my dad's wife last night.....he had a pacemaker put in yesterday but otherwise his recovery is progressing nicely. She said he must be feeling somewhat better because he's as grumpy as ever! My dad as a person is not grumpy, but he does not handle sickness or feeling dependent very well at all. At the moment he's about as dependent as a person can be! Anyway, good news.

Rainy in Texas this morning. The ducks on the pond are happy! Hope y'all have a great Thursday! Don't forget to keep the people of Haiti in your thoughts and prayers.....:sad1:

Hey LegoMom. :goodvibes I'm so glad your dad is continuing to improve. :goodvibes:goodvibes

I had to finally get away from the news broadcast on Haiti. I just can't even imagine what those people are going through and facing in the future.:sad1: And the people here that are trying to get information on their loved ones. :sad1:And I really can't believe that there are scams set up already to cheat the people that are trying to help. :sad2:
