Not than anyone particularly cares, but a year ago right now we were having our late lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, and watching the afternoon parade go by the window! *sigh*

I've been researching our next trip. If we stick with our every-other-year plan, it should be next fall. I love going in September and if they offer Free Dining again, we're all over that! Actually we'll pay for the plan if we have to, we liked it so much. We would never otherwise do sit-down restaurants and we especially like the character meals.

Of course with moving plans being such an unknown, I have to be ready to adjust our dates (if DH is still at his current job next year, we can go when we want, but if he's at a new job, we may have to put the trip off slightly). I just want to have one booked!!

That's how I feel right now. I work at a local high school in a Life Skills class. Last year one of the two teachers retired early(in part due to administration). Another teacher who was an emotional support teacher last year got pulled to fill the Life Skills position. The one teacher who remained from last year is really getting dumped upon. The new teacher is a complete a**hole. Noone likes her. She called us aides her "slaves". She's making fun of my hieght(or lack thereof). Well, the teacher who remained from last year announced today that she's leaving as soon as a replacement is found or in 60 days, whichever comes first. There's soooooooooooo much more I could whine about.

PaMom, I forgot to ask you what is taught in a "Life Skills" class. Is it a modern day home ec class where they teach you about credit cards and other more modern issues?

Smiley & MeanQueen - thanks so much for your thoughts and advice about my job.

Smiley, I agree with you that I need to go with my gut on this one. My gut is telling me that this would be the right move. I talked to my boss about it today and he eluded to that as well. He made it seem like taking the job could mean big payoffs for me in the future and I have to say that I agree. I just feel it. I know it will be hard, but there are worse things. I just try to remember that if nothing else, no matter what shift I work - I have a good paying job.

MeanQueen - most of the people I have spoken with who work third have said the same thing. Fridays and Sundays are the worst. But most also said that if I can get my body into a routine, it's not that bad. And hey, it's not like I'm sleeping well right now, so what do I have to lose?

DH and I talked more about it today. He supports me but realizes it will be an adjustment for us. At least we don't have kiddos to throw into the mix. But he did warm me that when I get the next BIG promotion, he's quitting his job.

I did it to help my career too. If you think it will help, then it is worth the sacrifice. I always said to myself when I was doing it, you can do anything for a short amount of time. I just didn't want to get stuck on the morning show forever, no matter how much more I liked producing morning shows than other ones. It sounds like it would be a short term thing to help you move up... and get paid more. Which is always nice.

Thanks DeterminedOne for the heads up. But I'm really not in any hurry. I'm just to pooped physically and emotionally right now to chase the tag fairy. Having a new home built and remodeling an old one has left me feeling raw and tender. But thanks anyway.
