And....now you're not. (guessing by the gray status button in your profile!).

I had to go out and pick the kids up from the bus stop. It's quite a trek anyway but with the rain we've been having, I wanted to drive over with the van. Today was actually much drier than yesterday, but the clouds are threatening.

If you read any of the posts on the main board (Theme Parks, etc.) people have been posting yesterday and today about all the rain!! It really is ironic, we've been so dry and then *bam*, we get absolutely soaked, all at once!

.

Welcome to Florida! You are now privy to our dirty little secret, strange weather patterns. :rotfl2:

No need for an ark yet TK. It's so dry here that the rain is barely raising the level in our drainage ditches. But my grass is finally starting to look green again.

Well, we did it. We booked a Disney cruise for the end of June. That's usually early enough in the hurricane season for it not to be too bad. Plus, with the Florida resident rate, it was over half off the price listed on the web site. We're not planning any excursions or any other costly things on the cruise. Just relaxing and enjoying the sun. But now I'm more determined to get my 3 year old potty trained. I don't want to pay for Flounder's when she can be in the kids club for free. Sadly, it's not going well from the mess I just cleaned up in the computer chair. Luckily, it's a plastic chair.:sad2:

Still not as strange as New England....For example, overnight low there last night: 31. Frost warnings and everything. High today, around 70. High tomorrow: 91!!! High by Friday: 68. Nuts, I say!...just nuts. Thus the old addage - if you don't like the weather in N.E., wait a minute, it'll change.

Yeah, potty training stinks. Sometimes literally. :rolleyes1 She doesn't understand bribery very well. She expects immediate gratification. If we say, go potty on the potty all the time and you get to see Mickey. She jumps off the toilet and says "Let's go see Mickey!" My MIL offered her a toy for going potty. DD3 said the next day "Ooopsie! Grammy forgot to get me a toy!" I think I'm going to make a chart with Mickey and a boat at the end to chart her dry days and hope they are all full by the time the cruise comes. Otherwise, we have to pay for Flounder's.

...yeah, well my DS thinks y'all can KEEP your weather patterns'.....:headache:

Tell him what I tell my kids, a little rain never hurt. :rolleyes1 Though the lightning may sting a bit. If he's at BCV, then this weather does really stink since he can't enjoy SAB. But rain is good weather to hit the parks in, as long as you have a poncho.

Did you know Mandy from the Idol thread is at BCV's too right now? They could have had a Dis meet. :rotfl2:

Yeah, I have to admit, they are a bit erratic....one day the rain is coming over from the east, the next it's from the west. Every time I check the radar the clouds & rain are moving in a different direction!!

Then you'll have real fun when the tropical storms start coming at us from both directions. We had one storm, I think last year, that came on land in 4 places within Florida.

I read a while ago on the main boards a post by someone who actually cancelled their trip this week due to the rain....they hadn't even left yet, but because it rained yesterday and today and was still looking like that for tomorrow, they cancelled!!.. Who does that???! For crying out loud by the time they actually got there this all would have been gone! The funniest thing was, most of the replies were to the tune of "We're here now, it's been great!...no lines, no crowds!!"

...yeah, he hasn't had a chance to enjoy that wonderful pool yet - shame :guilty: ... plus, I had my Disney Rewards card sent to him but it won't arrive till the 21st or 22nd, so he can't buy a pass till he gets it...

...I knew she had gone to WDW, but I didn't know that's where she was staying also....

Well, yay for green grass!

Congrats on the cruise! Ick on the computer chair. But hey, I bet you were never so grateful to have plastic, eh? :lmao:

There was frost on my car this morning when I went to work out.

I literally thought, IN MAY???? :lmao:

I probably wasn't participating in this thread when I was potty training my son, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to show you the prize chart that worked for us, it's somewhere in my photobucket.

Basically it was based on how many times you used the potty and depending on what you did it was worth a certain number of stickers. Since I know how regular DS is I figured once he got ten stickers, he'd get a prize from the prize bucket. This was basically every one to two days, depending. I went to the Dollar Tree, the dollar spot at Target, Walmart, and just got a whole bunch of little things, and finally, the summer before preschoool (we're not down to the wire or anything), it did click for him, but that prize chart sure helped. :goodvibes

Bummer! I hope he gets to enjoy the pool soon. :goodvibes

I mean, seriously. Have poncho, will travel. :thumbsup2

...don't know, don't care.....[...MY boy Danny is out of it...]

I'm wishing he was there now, so he would get stuck with the horrid song Kara wrote instead of Adam or Kris. I'm not sure either of them really win with that craptastic song.

TK - I'd love to see your potty chart. I can't find the one I used for my oldest so many years ago.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say good morning from Switzerland. Look forward to chatting when I get back. Have a good rest of the week!

Mean Queen--congrats on the trip. Still looking to go with ya'll. The guy at POR always says I'm home when I arrive, so. . .

Legomom--welcome to the South. Weird weather patterns. Someday soon you'll swear it's about to rain because of the clouds, but it won't.

I hated Kara's song last night. It was horrible.

On dialidol.com, they are predicting that. . . . . .

actually nothing--they are saying it's too close to call. I had you, though, didn't I?

Pretty much. I like Kris and love Adam but I wouldn't download that song if someone paid me. If Idol wants to claim they are finding a singer relevant to today's music, the song should be relevant to today's music. Or at least well written with a good melody.
