OMG.

I just found out they opened a Golden Corral about an hour and a half from my house (which is closer than the previously closer one which is 3 and a half hours away) and Golden Corral has HUSH PUPPIES.

Could someone come and kindly chain me to my couch?

Tastier than grits?!? I don't know if I'd say tastier. But just as tasty and just as big a southern staple as sweet tea. Hmmm. I guess all good southern staples add some fat in your southern areas.

I concur. What I'm finding amazing is that I can hardly find ANY thing down here in a low-fat variety!! I buy a certain brand of sausage links because my kids love those with a waffle for breakfast. In NH I could get Light Maple or Light Regular. Every bit as good as the "regular" but reduced fat content. I am buying the same brand of sausages down here, but there are no "light" options at all! Same goes with Ben & Jerry's!....store shelves are chock full of the premium ice cream (which, don't get me wrong, is some gooooood stuff!) but I can't find their frozen yogurt!!!

No, no....the south is not known for low-fat anything!!

Publix doesn't have it? I know I've bought light Ben & Jerry's there many times. Though I'm not sure sausage is allowed to be low fat in the South.
