tag team parenting on the news? Seriously? This is something new? The reporter asked the woman "How did you come up with this idea?" what the heck?? Its called PARENTING.

Granted I am quite cranky today due to having the other half of my "team" at the airport at 5:30 this morning (yes on a Saturday grrrr) but I just dont get how this is a new idea?
"honey, I am working tomorrow I need yo to take little Jane to the game"
Hasnt this been going on forever?

it was on the Today show this morning.

The reporter just made it seem like it was a brand new concept. Like parents dont ever switch off roles. She said "Parents coordinate their schedules so one of them can always be home with the kids"

Then she said 'In this economy, people dont have Nannies like they used to and so parents are having to be creative"

Welcome to the real world, honey its what millions of us have been doing for years!

That is just too ridiculous for words...but watching the news and reading some of the things that have been in the news, I'm not surprised that some parents have to be reminded that if there are 2 people involved in the raising of the child, they should each share responsibilities as they are able...:rolleyes1

I couldnt agree more. Now I realize the situation is different for those who dont have 2 parents involved but they really made this sound like it was an all new idea to share the responsibilities with your mate who lived in the same house.

Unfortunately I think for alot of people it might be a "new concept" to share parental responsibilities. I see plenty of marriages where the wive is the only one who takes care of the kids as in looking after them, taking them to different activities, feeding them, etc. Now as far as the whole "in this economy people can't afford nannies" that is HILARIOUS!!!!!

Duuuuude, DH and I have been doing this for nearly 13 years now...LOL!! We wouldn't have wanted a nanny even if we could have afforded one. :thumbsup2
