TADA!! Just got that magic call

Well I just hung up with **** (Jaki's son) from A Timeshare Broker and he gave me some great news... We made it through ROFR!!! TADA!!

Kinda fast from what I have read about in some cases, Disney got the signed contracts on May 19, and just 12 days later, I've got my own slice of the pie... The contract is just what we were hoping for too... October use year, 300 point contract and it came with all of the sellers points from 2003, a really nice bonus..

I can't wait to take my first trip home!

Congratulations, Barcho! We received a call from **** about 12:15 that we passed ROFR for our BWV contract. **** told us that he was in the process of contacting 30 people who were waiting on Disney's ROFR -- he also said that May has been a VERY busy month for Disney.

Today's is my husband's birthday so what a great present!!

Hey **** must have been busy today! I got my call too, made it through ROFR. And as the OP said, it was fasssst--only signed the contract on May 20, and I was told to expect 2-3 weeks. Imagine my happy surprise to get that call today! BWV 250 points December use.

To the poster who is waiting on ROFR and wanted to know the odds of getting through-I asked **** when my offer was accepted by the buyer what the odds were of Disney accepting, and was told 100%. I am assuming that's because the price I paid was within the boundaries of what Disney accepts for the resort I wanted. I'm not sure if it's considered impolite to mention how much one pays for points on these boards, but I will say from what I have seen during my research that I think I got a good deal. Since the points were used for this year (see below) that may have affected the final cost, I'm not sure. Anyway, **** has so much experience doing this, so I guess I trusted the answer I got, and I wasn't really worried about ROFR, but of course I let out a whoop when I heard for sure. So why not ask your broker's opinion, it might ease your mind if you get the same response I did.

YAY BWV is my new home! The points are used for this year, I can't start to borrow from the '95 points until this December, but that worked out fine, because I had already rented for my next two trips. It may not have been the best deal on earth, I know some of you get banked and other points when you buy. I wanted a certain amount of points at BWV, this was the first resale I've seen since I started looking that had the right amount. Since I already booked the next two trips with rented points this seemed perfect for me. Thanks to the DVC members who have rented me points (3 different members).
