Hi! What is the best tablet for kids? I would like learning tablets, not just "games" (learning games are great). It would be great if they can watch movies, too. We have kindle fires and HATE them! I have to reconnect to the internet every time we use them, they are not user friendly, and I have had to send them back to Amazon twice. Honestly, they stay in the cabinet now, because trying to use them always makes someone end up in tears.

I would love to be able to use them on the car on the way to Disney, too. I know iPads are great, but they are too pricy especially since we have to buy two.

Thank you for your suggestions!

When the kids were that little we had Leappads, but you are very limited in that you can only use their games and videos. At least it used to be that way when we had them a few years ago. It still might be a good option for that age, though.

I got my youngest a Kindle Fire for kids with Freetime. She can choose from lots of games, videos and books. I can also log out of the Freetime and download movies from our Amazon account for her. DH and I also have Kindles and haven't had any trouble with them, but I can understand if you have issues why you'd want to try a different product.

I know Samsung has a tablet, because when my Nook died I almost got one. I ended up with the Kindle, though, so I don't know much about them.

Not sure why your constantly having to reconnect to the internet, although I'll openly admit I'm no tech guru. My kids are the same ages 5 and almost 3, both have Kindles and they occasionally ask for the password when first turned on but most often it's just turn it on and hand it over. Some games operate offline but they do require it for others, I honestly don't see how any will be completely web free though.

We had leappads. My DD's used them until they were almost 9- far later than the age range would suggest. Loved that there are no cartridges and when I purchased an app or movie, I could load it onto both leappads. Loved that it had no internet connection, other than for educational science videos, so I never worried about them finding inappropriate content accidentally.
