Tables in Wonderland

It is open to DVC members but otherwise no. But it's worth doing the math - depending on what you'll spend on tickets and what you'll spend on meals (and alcohol) - it may be worth upgrading to an AP. At least that's how I've rationalized it!

I'm not sure why annual pass is more expensive and tables in wonderland is not an option for nonFlorida residents, nonDVC, or nonAnnual pass holders. It seems to me that this Marylander's money for a one year membership would be worth much more than a person that can use it more often.

I'm looking at 14 days of use for a 365 day card?

All this does is make me want to move back to Florida.

Well, we have found that literally one meal at V & A's has paid for our TIW card. Though V & A's is going away but, still. I figure I tip anyhow so I don't count that as part of the savings - we do tend to indulge while at WDW (in drinks as well) so saving 20% on most all of our meals and drinks is worth it. So if I have two trips in a calendar period (say two 5-day trips) and I always get Park Hoppers, then let's say that's $342 x 2 = $684. The price of an AP is around $650 (so that's a no-brainer right there) - Then I paid $75 for my TIW card which means I would have to spend just under $400 to pay back the $75 I spent for TIW. Which we do in 2-3 sit down meals, hands down. So it completely makes sense. Now for you - a ten-day ticket is the longest that is sold so if you break it down to two five day tickets (at Undercover Tourist that's $291 each w/o PH and $342 each with PH) if you're not into park hoppers it may not be worth it - BUT if you are staying on site and will be spending north of $500 for your park ticket AND dining at multiple table service restaurants it just may make sense to upgrade to the AP and get TIW.

Seriously, Disney math is the best!! :rotfl:

ETA: We have a house in Florida and I can't wait until it can be our primary residence!! I know what you mean!

Can Tables In Wonderland be used for Mama Melrose's fantasmic pkg ? I know Mama M is included as one of the TIW restaurants, but I can't find anything about the fantasmic pkg.

No because it is considered a special dining event.

I can't find any info on Tables in Wonderland.

none of the quick service accept TiW?
What does it mean that you tip anyway?

I have four people and the first trip will include an 8 day ticket and we are going to try park hopping for the first time this year. Each 8 d w/hopper is $406. The AP is about $639. This is a difference of $230. I'm going to include this cost in case we can not go to disney a second time, for one adult in the party. TiW costs $100 for this AP holder. So I need to save $330 to break even.

We have ADRs for Liberty Tree, Be our Guest, Tonys, Tokyo Dining, Coral Reef, Sci Fi, and Raglan Road. 7 table services for dinner. I checked out the menus and the average most expensive is about $30 = $840 for the entrees. One will drink water, two will drink soda, I may have one drink = $20. Desserts may be one to share for the whole table as I think we will be full. $1000 is the highest i can make this estimate with a straight face. TiW will save me $200 on table service.

Everything Pop for breakfast is at the most $10 per person for seven mornings. $280 will save me $56.

We plan on eating a quick service at Flaming Tree in Animal Kingdom. This could be at the most $15/person = $60. TiW will save me $12.

$320 to buy it will save me $268. Unless someone can tell me my math is wrong by $250 bucks in covered food, this is not my best option.

A TiW membership cost increased, it is no longer $75.

$100 for AP holders and DVC Members.
Or $125 For Florida Resident.

Also here is the official website.

TIW can only be used for counter service meals inside AK.

An 18% tip is added to your bill. You get 20% off the meal for up to 10 people but 18% gratuity is added back. Since almost everyone tips at least 18%, we don't factor the tip cost when determining whether it's a good deal.

AP holders, residents and DVC members are given this as a perk for repeated Disney patronage above and beyond the average visitor. Plus this group usually has transportation and can eat offsite so this is a way to lure them into eating on property. They aren't giving it to everyone because they are in the business to maximize profit.

Unless you are going to use at least a 10 park hopper, it doesn't make $$ sense to get an AP. It might make sense for ONE in your party to upgrade in order to get the TIW but since you are not eating at the higher cost places or planning on a lot of alcoholic beverages, it may not save you.

The website linked to above gives this info but you do have to search for it.

Quick/Counter Service places that take TIW:

QS places inside Animal Kingdom Park
Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ
Artist's Palette at SSR
*all* Value Resort foodcourts! (and twice now when I've purchased a refillable mug the discount has come off of the mug, too...this last time it did even when the CM told me it wouldn't (I wasn't asking if it would, not sure why she said that, but she was still wrong))

I am hoping to go to disney again next year for another seven days before AP expires, but I can't be confident I'll have another disposable $6000. I would need to drink more specifically at the table services, and three of those are in Magic Kingdom where they do not offer alcoholic drinks. Thank you kindly for confirming my thoughts.

I also looked through the AP perks and could not find one thing that my group would be able to take advantage of while we are on holiday. Golf- ha no way. Purchase discounts appear to exclude just about any purchases. Food discounts are specific to lunch Table services in Epcot, which we do not have planned.

Awesome information. I updated my number based on the food court breakfasts and one Animal Kingdom quick service. And refill mugs. Thank you kindly.

As already mentioned...Disney realizes that those of us that go to WDW more than once a year (DVC and AP holders usually) tend to not 'eat out' as often as other guests. We tend to have cars, so can go off-site to eat. By offering us the TiW card as an option, we stay on-site for meals more often. And I know that my eating habits have changed considerably over the years. I no longer feel the need to eat at WDW restaurants so much based on the price...especially for what I'm getting. But, with the TiW card, I am much more inclined to eat on-site, especially at the more upscale places.

Of course, I usually go to WDW several times a year....there have been years that I go 3 or 4 times, or have one trip that is close to two weeks! It's nice to get a little something from Disney for a change!

I have been researching the TIW and I'm still trying to figure if it will save us money too. We are becoming DVC members and plan to be by our next trip. We are not AP holders or FL residents....

....I do have a question for anyone who may know. We will most likely pay for the DDP, can we use the discount of TIW while on the DDP? Also we are purchasing DVC through resale. I know by doing this we don't have every option as a member buying direct is TIW card one of those options we loose form buying a resale? Thanks!

You can get a TIW discount on the items not covered by the DDP (appetizers, alcoholic beverages, etc).

Even resale DVC members can purchase the TIW.

Yeah if you can purchase TiW i suggest you do so. It was the best thing i ever did especially since the price of the DDP has gone sky high and you dont get enough. With TiW you can order how you like no restrictions, except what restaurants are covered. It pays for itself after $500 in meals. Here is a break down of my last Trip. It was Me DD (7) but orders Adult sized steaks, and DW for 8 days in December.

On TIW we spent $1,574.80 in meals and ate at signatures and character meals all week that includes Tax and Tip and alcohol and the cost of the card.
Here is where we ate
BOG
CRT
bluezoo
Cali Grill
Tusker House
Yak and Yeti
Akershus
1900 PF
T Rex- no TIW but got an AP discount 10%
Rainforest Cafe same as above
Lecellier
Sci Fi Theater
Mickey's back Yard BBQ
Had i been on the DxDP it would have been $1701 prior to Tip and Alcohol.

BOG in the evening, when it's a table service, does serve beer and wine.

The tablesinwonderland site does show every single place the card can be used at, and you might notice all the resort lounges that are mentioned. In case you're a person that likes to kick back and relax with an adult beverage, it might be another place to add to the list.

You can get the AP merchandise discount at Disney-owned stores. Just because there's a long list of very specific places doesn't mean it feels limited when you're there.

There are more food discounts than just at Epcot, but they ARE limited. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/p...2013-benefits-and-discounts/dining-discounts/

You can still buy the TIW card.

1701 / 3 people / 8 days = $70. The Disney dining plan is $60, really like $59. You have thirteen restaurants listed. Did you skip a few breakfasts and lunches, or maybe since they are not covered by TiW you skipped those? Because the Disney dining plan would have been 8 QS and 8 TS or sixteen meals.
