I see that above it shows that the Sanaa accepts TIW, but when I looked at the WDWinfo list, I did not see this restaurant. Can someone confirm whether or not the Sanaa accepts this discount card? I am new to this and want to be sure before I dive in and make a decision to take this route. The Sanaa was one of the restaurants we had been considering.

Thanks a bunch:flower3:

I ate at Sanaa in October 2009 and the TIW was accepted then. I don't know if it has changed since then.

Trying to decide on purchasing TiW. We have always purchased the DDP or DxDP and normally tip 18% at all meals. Has anyone ever compared the cost between the dining plans and TiW? Thanks

I am a little confused. :confused3 Is it good only at table service rest? I see the value food courts listed but not the others. I might consider dropping the ddp and getting TiW if it includes counter service too.
Thanks

TIW is accepted at only nine counter service restaurants: the four value resort food courts, the POFQ food court, the SSR counter service, and the three Disney-operated counter services at the Animal Kingdom park. It is not accepted at any other counter service restaurant, or at snack kiosks.

We recently used TIW for the first time. The last few days of our trip we tried eating table service at lunch and this worked very well. At Holllywood Brown Derby we just ordered Cobb Salads - on the appetizer menu, but PLENTY of food for lunch. With the 20% discount, it was just a few dollars more than a counter service meal... and a pleasant, relaxing break in the day. The next day my daughter and I split the 3-course prix fixe lunch at Chefs de France - lobster bisque, croque monsieur with green salad, profiteroles. Again, plenty of food for the 2 of us (she's 10), and even with gratuity not much more than we would have paid for 2 entrees at Sunshine Seasons.

I'll do more of this on our next trip. I think where TIW can save more than the dining plan is at a la carte restaurants where you can order just what you want/need - perhaps sharing a dessert instead of each getting one, or sharing an entree with an older child. If you are going to do mainly character buffets (same price per person regardless of what you eat) and counter service, the dining plan might be a better option.

It depends on how you eat. We don't always have desserts with our meals; sometimes we like appetizers. Sometimes we have appetizers only. The DxDP doesn't work for us since it's only rarely that I can eat an appetizer, entree and dessert; usually it's one or the other. If we don't feel like keeping an ADR, we don't have to worry about using the credits somewhere else or losing something we've already paid for. And we do like adult beverages as well, which are not on any DDP but are subject to the TiW discount.

TiW definitely works better for us.

- So wait, do I understand this correctly? The TiW discount applies on alcoholic beverages as well as meals too?? That seems like it could pay for itself very quickly.... :thumbsup2

Yes it also applies to alcoholic beverages. One distinct advantage to the dining plans.

Only the ones served at table service locations or possibly bars that also serve food.

Yes, as long as you do it at a Guest Relations Office, as opposed to a ticket booth, you can purchase the TiW at the same time you do the upgrade to APs. And it will be effective immediately.

Brainfart time, what's the difference between GR and a TB? still crunching numbers to determine what is the best option between upgrading a MYW ticket, upgrading the Salute to Heroes ticket or just buying an AP outright for our stay next year. regardless we do want to get it all at once, whether at DTD, our resort or in a park. we will be using an online TA well known on these boards again

is GR the ones INSIDE the parks? like where I went to get my SoG ticket replaced once cuz the magnet died on it?

yes. yes it does. :cool1: one meal at V&A and the sucker is paid for and since it is a moral imperative that DH eat there every time we go, it will be entirely worth it even we do not get back to Mouse town a second time in a year.

That is a really nice feature though, and could easily add up - making the TiW more worthwhile.... alot of those Dis drinks cost $10 a piece ...:thumbsup2

where do you actually purchase the TiW? and does it go into effect when you buy it or when you use it? - like an AP? ...

It goes into effect immediately when you purchase it. That's why you get about 13 months with it.

Where can you purchase it? can you get it at any ticket window or hotel?

According to my booklet, it also works at virtually every resort bar, except the ones near the pools.

We got ours at guest relations just inside DHS (to the left while entering).

And for other questions...when we upgraded to APs from our tickets, we did that at guest relations just inside of AK. We could have upgraded then bought the TIW right then and there one right after the other, if I'd thought of it.

We got one outside Epcot at the front of Epcot (Guest Relations) and another at DTD Guest Relations.
