Tables In Wonderland Questions

You can get the TiW card at any outside or inside Guest Relations Office at any of the parks (except water parks), TTC or DTD. These are the only locations.

You cannot get them at a Resort or a regular ticket window.

I am trying to gather information for my family group that will be traveling together in the future. I plan to get an AP and the TIW card. Is it necessary that all meals, where we use TIW, be paid on my credit card since the TIW card is in my name? Or can another guest pick up the tab and still get the discount?

Is it safe to assume that the bills can't be split and still receive the discount?

TIA!

We were at WDW 3 days ago. I used my TIA card and we paid with two credit cards. Never had a problem

The rule is that the bill can't be split and all discounted meals must be on one bill. As for who pays, most places I've been to allowed someone else other than the cardholder to pay the full bill, but a couple did not allow splitting the payment on separate credit cards, while others did.

I've heard TiW isn't worth the cost because it is now so difficult to walk-in to a sit-down restaurant without ADR. Thoughts?

I always make ADRs at 180 fays out, but frequently change plans once I'm down there. I changed my ADRs during my recent Sept and also my Nov/Dec trips. My Sept trip especially I made alot of changes while I was down there.

I see that above it shows that the Sanaa accepts TIW, but when I looked at the WDWinfo list, I did not see this restaurant. Can someone confirm whether or not the Sanaa accepts this discount card? I am new to this and want to be sure before I dive in and make a decision to take this route. The Sanaa was one of the restaurants we had been considering.

Thanks a bunch:flower3:

I used it there this past Sept.

It goes into effect immediately when you purchase it. That's why you get about 13 months with it.

Be sure to check the expiration date as soon as you get the card. This past Sept, I picked mine up at Epcot guest relations. I didn't notice until that night that they had it expiring one month later in Oct 2011.:scared1: I had to stop in at guest relations in MK the next morning to get a new card. The CM was able to look the transaction up and issued me a new card with the correct expiration date. He laughed and said it happens alot and to be sure to always check the expiration date, before leaving with the new card.

They wouldn't let me when we were there in Sept.:confused3 I was down there with several DISers. They all had the DDP, while I used TiW. A few times one of them would want to use my TiW discount to order an appetizer or drink. Every single time the waiter said they were not allowed to issue separate tickets, that I had to pay for it and they could just pay me back.:confused3 Anyone could pay the bill, but they could only issue one bill. They could not split it.

Hi I have some TIW questions.

We are going to have park tickets that we are going to upgrade to APs the first day we arrive.

Can we buy the TIW membership right then and there once we are AP holders?

Does it go into effect immediately?

If we have a large party on one of the meals (14 with 8 being 10 and up, 3 being ages 3-9, and 3 being free at a buffet since they are under 3) could we use the membership? We would all be on one check since I am treating my nieces and nephews to the meal.

I have heard that the discount is only good for up to 10 people but would we just get the discount on the 8 adults and 2 of the kids and then just pay full price for the one remaining kid or will they not even allow you to use TIW at all for a party bigger then 10?

Thanks for any info!!!!

FIXED - Spouse card only good if you split up, NOT at same meal.

You can buy a second TIW card for your spouse for $50. With a party of 14, it would be worth it to have two cards if you split up, you'll have the opportunity for discounts even if you don't eat together. For a large family trip, I'd recommend that second card for sure.

A good rule of thumb is to assume you'll save the amount of the tip on every meal on everything on the check. As a family we always get an appetizer or two to share, and DH and I usually get a drink. TIW is the best for us! Our AP expired, but our TIW doesn't expire until the end of January, so we can use it on our next trip. We're unsure if we're going to get a new AP this trip or wait until August so it's a lucky thing for us that we bought our TIW in December of 2010.

both our annual passes and TIW cards at Guest Relations this past trip with no problems.

We love TIW becasue it covers adult beverages and sometimes we just like to sit in a lounge, have an app or two and a drink or two and relax...

I don't think you're supposed to be able to use a "spouse card" at the same meal.

The second family card will reject if you attempt to use it at the same restaurant for the same meal. It is only allowed for same meal at different restaurants (people not dining together).

Really? On two different checks? I had no idea, I figured they would insist on that to be able to offer a discount to the entire party.

That's a shame.

Because it is one membership.

Now if both people had their own separate TiW membership, as opposed to one membership with a Spouse card, it would work.

Oh, so then buying a separate $75 membership could still be worth it! Good solution.

So then I'll say -

Your spouse can buy his own membership for $75 then you can have up to 20 guests at dinner, on two checks, and get a discount on ALL of them!!

Sound good??:goodvibes

She should do the math to make sure it would be worth it to buy another membership in order to get a TIW discount for more than 10 people on one meal. Especially since you can designate the less expensive meals as the ones that will not be covered.

Question. I reserved a Table for 2 at the Spirit of Aloha. I have the TIW card and called reservations. They DID NOT give me the discounted price of 20 percent. I paid full price that was put on my Visa card. The CM at reservations told me they would deduct the discount when I get there! :confused3 This makes no sense at all. Is this what they generally do?

Thanks all so much!

Really? In the past they always wanted to know what the TIW card number was so I would get the discount up front. I guess they have changed things.

We got a credit card refund, but it was awhile ago too.
It is always possible that my info is out of date. Sorry if I misled

Where is the Guest Relations compared to the Ticket Booth? Is there usually less of a line at Guest Relations? We'll be arriving mid afternoon and have an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern so time will be tight. I'm wondering if I should order it over the phone and have it sent to me instead of waiting to get it while we're there.

If you mean at Magic Kingdom you have two options. 1) The Guest Services outside the park is located just to the right of the turnstiles, AFTER you pass the bag check. 2) The Guest Services inside the park is located at City Hall.

Hi! No worries at all. :)

Okay, I just called the Tables in Wonderland phone number. The CM when I made the ADR for the Spirit of Aloha show was "WRONG"! lol! He said I should get the discount when I get there. That's not correct. When you call Disney to make your ADR for a dinner show YOU NEED TO GIVE THEM YOUR TIW NUMBER at that point, NOT WHEN YOU GET THERE, lol! I just want everyone to be clear that's why I capped the previous sentence, lol!

They had to rebook me using the TIW number first. They put the discounted amount on my VISA, then THEY CANCELLED my old reservation. This took about 25 minutes, but at least it is done.
