Trying to work out if this makes sense for us as I could buy it with my AP.

Realise that only some park and resort table service restaurants are included :)
But is the Fantasmic dinner package included :confused3

Also since I will not get the AP until we arrive I'm guessing I cannot buy this in advance. Can the card be purchased at DTD :)

Most TS restaurants are included and I think the Fantasmic package is as it is the same price as a normal meal. You can buy the TIW card at any guest services window along with your AP.

TIW info.

Claire ;)

The great thing about the TIW card is that the discount is applied to the entire check, including alcoholic drinks (so, in our case, it quickly pays for itself ;)). Effectively, it covers your tips and, these days your 20% discount is applied, along with an 18% gratuity. Prior to the auto-grat policy, we (and most others) would simply leave the discount as a tip. After discussions with several servers and bartenders (don't forget to use the card if you're just stopping at a bar for a drink), it's apparent that they really do appreciate it if you make up the 2% even if it seems like peanuts - for them, it all adds up.

We numbercrunched about getting one AP in our family for both our last trip and our upcoming one and if we had decided to get one we would have definitely bought this for the 20% discount. With 5 of us it would have paid for itself within 3 meals.

I didn't think the Fantasmic dinner package was included but it was quite a long time ago that I looked at it all so I am probably wrong.

we got one when we got our ap last year and it paid for itself within a week, so good.

We then took it on our wedding trip and got some great discounts for our welcome dinner and rehearsal lunch at the grand floridian

Well worth getting but we didnt renew our ap so dont have one now

We got one in Feb and it was well worth the money. The amount of places that take the 20% discount is far more than if you just use your AP.
I can confirm though that Fantasmic is not included. We did the dinner package and tried to use the TIW card. No luck.
