I am considering the tables in wonderland card for my trip in september.

Does anyone know, do you need to show ID (eg to show that you are the correct person/DVC/AP holder) to be able to use the discount or is the card enough knowing that they checked eligibility when you bought it? I don't often carry anything around with me except for my room key and need to figure out if i need something to carry ID around in.

Does the card have your name on it or is it just a generic card? I have never even seen one before.
:confused3

Thanks all. :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure mine had my name on it.

It's like a paper park ticket but a different design on the front. And then they print the back like on APs etc.

I think I showed ID sometimes. I never go anywhere is the US without my drivers licence so can't really remember 100%. Sorry.

TiW was great for us though. :)

thankyou. luckily (or not) i don't often get asked for id anymore :rotfl:

i guess i'll carry it just in case.:goodvibes

they should not check your ID against your DVC/AP
Actually you might have bought TIW on the last day of your AP, which I think you can still do, hence no longer having an AP but still being able to use TIW unitl it expires

If they ever check your ID, it will be for serving alcoholic beverages as requested by the Law, but that would be overdoing it since you need to be 21 to buy TIW in the first place.

Anyway, as a visitor in the US you're supposed to carry your passport/ID at all times, so the ID issue should not be a problem

when i posted this here I also emailed TIW and they confirmed that you DO need to show your ID in the restaurant to confirm that you are indeed the person who is the member!
Guess that answers everything :goodvibes

I haven't ever had to prove that I was a DVC member or AP holder- only that I was the name on the TiW card and that was just the one time only at CP where I was asked for ID.

Most of the time though I charge to my room and my KTTW has my name and DVC member on it so not sure if that is proof enough.

I always carry my photocard from my driving licence anyway.

I guess it just depends on the server :confused3

right.
ID checking really depends on the CM.
Unrelated to TIW, but I got my ID checked only once at WDW when charging off my KTTW. I made purchases all over property with receipt reaching over $150+ on many occasions. Never had ID checked once. The only time it was checked was when I used my KTTW to buy some kind of antenna topper for $4 in total. The CM at the cash register could tell how shocked I was, just looking at my face. Not shocked of being asked for ID, but shocked for being asked for ID on my smallest purchase ever in WDW and not for any other.

You're supposed to show ID. More often than not, they don't ask for it. Our TIW is in my husbands name. When I go wothout him, I just hand it over. It's usually not a problem. If they ask for ID, I just tell them not to worry about it and pay it.
