Is the 18% also added to buffet dining? If so is there any way to change that. I was taught never to tip 18% at buffets.

Thanks

Steve

Not sure that seems fair, if I eat at California grill the server would get the same % as Germany????

You can always chose not to use your TIW card at Biergarten and tip as you please.

If your service is bad then ask to speak to a manager during your meal and have the grat changed/removed otherwise there is no distinction between regular TS and buffet restaurants in regards to tipping

You do realize, that although it's a buffet, the server usually does more than a server at a table service restaurant. At table service you have a server, a bus boy and sometimes a food runner that brings out your food. At buffets that server also buses your table, refills your drinks, etc.

As a server in a non-buffet restaurant, I have no problem with it. Those servers are doing a lot more work than people realize.

Whether you think it is fair or not, that is the rule for TIW - and also for parties of six or more.

Closing as this counts as a thread concerning personal tipping habits. Please see the first post in the tipping sticky thread.
