My family usually eats at the quick service places throughout WDW but I would like to do one good table service meal. Last trip we did ohana's (I think that is what it is called at the Poly). Any suggestions? We don't have little ones anymore so no character meals please.

LLT for lunch at MK

DHS Hollywood Studios

EPCOT take your pick.

Animal Kingdom we usually do Flametree CS

AKL Boma

Denise in MI

What type of food do you enjoy the most? That would narrow choices down.

Here are my favorate table service restaurants not listed in any particular order. I haven't been to any of the higher end restaurants such as Jiko, Citricos, Artists Point etc. While they have great reviews they are generally out of our price range.

Kona at Polynesian. Excellent food but can be noisy.

Coral Reef. Food is very good but not great. Watching the huge Aquarium while dining is what makes it worthwhile for many.

San Angel. Food is excellent but not for everyone. Atmosphere is tops among WDW restaurants.

Le Celliar. Excellent steaks. Atmosphere is basic but acceptable.

Les Chefs De France. Very good food, wait staff was supurb. Very enjoyable relaxed dinner.

My wife and I have had a few TS meals at WDW, but when we tell people about the meals, the one we most often find ourselves remembering fondly is the Biergarten. It wasn't just the food, but a total experience that we are looking forward to doing again on our trip in September.

We eat most of our meals at TS. Some of our faves in the parks ..

MK - LTT for lunch, Plaza

Epcot - Rose and Crown, Chefs de France, 9 Dragons

Studio - 50's

AK - Yak and Yeti

at the resorts .. the best food!

BC - Cape May
YC - Yachtsman Steakhouse
BW - Flying Fish
AKL - Boma, Jiko and Sanaa

So many things and different atmospheres to choose from. You said no young children. Does that mean you have teen. My sons liked Marakesh (spelling) last time, but they were 18 and 21 at the time. So I think it was more the belly dancers then the food. Because of their ages we have steered towards buffetts. Between DH and my DS's and they always seem to bring a buddy along their appetites more then make up for the tiny amount DD15 eats. Boma is a good one. They also liked the seafood buffet at Cape May. We all liked the buffet at 1900 park fair. I know, I know you said not character meals. But honestley those stepsisters and Lady Tremaine are one of the best shows there. They spotted my sons and their friends ( they originally agreed to go for little sis), well that was all they needed. They couldn't decide which one they liked best so they started fighting over all of them. I laughed so hard I cried. The food was good to and a large variety. Another place that nobody mentions. Only those of us that stay at OKW seem to realize it is there is Olivia's. The menu is simple with a key west flair, make sure to get the key lime pie if you go.

We eat at 1 TS restaurant each day & these are our favs:
Narcoossee's (GF)
Calif Grill (CR)
Artist Point (WL)
Hollywood Brown Derby (DHS)
Le Cellier (WS)

My DH likes Biergarten (WS) while I'm not a fan.

Our faves:

LeCellier-Epcot WS
Coral Reef- Epcot
Boma-Animal Kingdom Lodge

Our must do" is breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club (I know it's a character meal. But, the atmosphere is more laid back than most of the other character meals.) We have always found it very relaxing and a nice way to end our trip--we save it for our last morning.:grouphug:

50's PTC is good
WCC at WL is also lots of fun, bottomless milkshake is DBF's favorite
Le Cellier is wonderful
GG at lunch time doesn't have characters anymore, I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Biergarten is okay
Teppan Edo okay as well
Jiko is something I've always wanted to try too

For something different yet with something for everyone I strongly suggest Boma, breakfast is awesome and less money than dinner. We also loved dinner so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

This is really a discussion better suited to the Restaurants and Dining board and I'll be moving this there..

Thanks!

I agree with Huff and would like to also add Boma (visiting AKL is also a fun experience). I also think that the resort restaurants are great. The Grand Floridian Cafe has never disappointed us. We also love the signature restaurants but I wasn't sure if you wanted to go that route.

oh, I forgot to add Jiko (AKL) to our list!!!
We haven't tried Boma yet, but will on our next visit.
