We having a hard time deciding where to eat for dinner when we go in August. What have you enjoyed at HS??:confused3

I have been to all of them. By far, the Brown Derby is the best. It is expensive and more time consuming because it is a signature. It is one of my favorite places on property.

It's been a while since I was at Mama Melrose's. I liked it fine, but it's been years since I have been there. I think it's a little out of the way, but the park is so small, we really don't mind the walk.

I also like Hollywood & Vine, although a lot of people hate it. It's a typical Disney buffet and it's located towards the front of the park. It's nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back, particularly if I was doing the Fantasmic package and this place had a better time.

I didn't care for the SciFI café. I thought the seating was a little awkward and the food wasn't that great. Some people love it, but I didn't like sitting in the dark looking at the backs of half the table.

I loved 50s. I thought the food was pretty good and the atmosphere was really fun. I understand it depends on your waiter, but we lucked into a pretty good one.

The Boardwalk also has a lot of things you could try if none of this suits you. ESPN is exactly what you expect. We really enjoyed Beaches and Cream, too. The ice cream is really good. We have tried Yachtsman and it too was good. I think if I were to pay for Yachtsman, I might as well stay at the Derby and save the transpo time. I liked Kouzzina as well, but I understand that is closing.

That was very helpful! We did Mama Melrose last time and Hollywood & Vine character lunch too. Being 6 years later we couldn't decide on what to do. I think the ESPN is a great option. We are planning Hollywood Studios all day so it might be a nice break to head over to the Boardwalk. Great suggestion. Thanks so much. :thumbsup2

We did Mama Melrose on our last trip and the food was horrible, I couldn't even eat mine! Enjoyed sci-fi diner for the experience and also heard the Prime Time Cafe is good.

Brown Derby is OK.

Both Sci-Fi Theater & 50's Prime Time are uniquely Disney. I find the theme at 50's Prime Time lost on young children who did not grow up with black & white TV and/or Formica, but they do serve excellent margarita's.:thumbsup2 Sci-Fi can be too dark for some small children.

We prefer leaving HS and eat at Boardwalk area.

Our favorites are inside Swan & Dolphin.

If doing Disney Dining Plan, we prefer Flying Fish to Brown Derby.
