I prefer booth, but for the sake of my sanity with 2 kids wanting to sit next to mommy, a table is best.

A square table is the best of all, that way one kid can be on my left, the other on my right. Rectangle tables are the same as booths, one kid sits next to me, the other in front of me. The one in front of me always (always!) ends up sulking for the next 5 minutes.

If the tables are real close together then I would prefer a booth. I hate it when they sit you at a table and another party is so close it's like you are having dinner with them. If that happens to me I'll tell them I would rather wait for a more private table or booth.

If it is just adults, a table. I am very short, and with most booths I am too far away from the table. However, if DS is with us, like many others have said I like a booth so I can "trap" him in.

We ALWAYS ask for a booth. Those chairs in restaurants kill my back - I love sitting in a padded booth. Plus, it is roomier and more private
