My husband and I are contemplating a Disney Magic Cruise for our 10 year anniversary next year. We would really love to have a table for two. Am I dreaming, or are there places aboard ship that two lovebirds can actually eat in the pleasure of our own company?

Are there tables for two in Palo's??

Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Happy Cruising,
The Sarge's

A two top is definitely available in Palos! My dh and I had one of our best meals ever there!

Because we sailed without our kids, we were seated with another couple with no children at a table for four. They loved Palo and tried each night to eat there at 8:30 pm (I guess Palo tends to be less crowded then and has some no shows). Well, we wound up eating with the couple only 2X out of our 7 nights. Although they were nice, we enjoyed our time alone. What a wonderful plus to an incredible 25th anniversary cruise. You are going to love it. Good luck!

Count me in with those requesting a table of our own!!! Perhaps I should just admit to being 'anti-social', but we too would just like for it to be us at our dinner seating!! After all, the whole rest of the cruise will be full of activities and socializing. Sometimes I just like to be able to sit and relax and enjoy my meal. You know, not trying to hold a conversation with strangers in between bites!!! hahahah!!!

And, another biggie is DS (5) He is not the biggest eater.... Let's just say if we get a table with another kid, or even a doting older couple (did I say how cute DS is!!!) Well, DS will not eat one bite, and we will not get one moments peace during the meals!!!

Wishing on a star,

I just posted my concerns on this on another thread, so
we agree with you 100%. We just booked our 1st ever cruise (Wonder 2-22-2004). And I already requested a private table for two(if possible). For all the same reasons you listed.
I always like to give this example........When you go out for a nice relaxing, romantic, quiet, dinner with your spouse, to a very nice restraunt, do you ask for a table for 2 or do you ask to sit with complete strangers that you have never met, and in 99% of cases wil never see again??I think you know what most people would say....

We sailed on the Wonder to celebrate our 25th. I requested a table for 2 and wound up at a table for 12! Hope you have better luck than we did! (We had a good time anyway. Our tablemates were 5 other couples and were very nice.) :D

Wishing on a star,
Didn't notice if you've sailed DCL before. I love that DCL brings the kid meals to the table first. DS does okay but generally speaking, doesn't like to sit still. We bring him to dinner, get him desert but either DH or myself check him into the club while we finish dinner & have desert & coffee. After we finish, we bring him to the show with us. Works out for all. I'll be on my 3rd DCL 2/2003 and haven't really had a hankering for Palos(yet). I am fortunate to be able to go to dinner with DH here, where most are not. Just a comment I wanted to share.

Just to prepare you. We asked for a table for 2 twice when we cruised with Disney. We NEVER got it!! We were early sitting and started out alone but always had people from wait list seated with us. If you want to dine alone I would suggest Palo's twice and maybe you would have better luck for a table for 2 at late sitting. If the Ship is not full you might get lucky. We were told if there was a wait list, they had to honor it, instead of leaving 2 spots empty at our table. That does make sense and It all worked out fine. On our last cruise we didn't even request a table for 2 since we knew it wouldn't happen. Good Luck!:D

Thanks so much Cindy, Kim, Teri, and all !

Sounds like some of you really understood about my comments!! DS is toooo adorable. And is commonly the center of attention! And yes, we are one of those who have VERY RARE opportunity to go out alone.... Here we are spending this kind of $$$ for this Disney Cruise, and to us, one of the best things about it will be Palo's and the Kids Club for an evening (maybe two!). We are traveling off season, with late seating, so maybe that will help too.

Everyone is taking this dining thing so seriously. Don't all of have those little things that can seem like big deals! Hahahah!! But like you all say, there is always Palo's, and the other dining alternatives on board!

PS: Yes, we are first time cruisers.
