Saturday 24th November Epcot & Club Sevilla
Stuffed our stuff in the car and headed for Epcot but only got as far as Downtown Disney before we remembered we had forgotten to empty the safe (numpties)
so we had to turn around and go very shame faced up to the receptionist and explain. She was very nice and gave me a room key and said just leave it in the room when we were done.
We still managed to get to Epcot by 9.30 and saw the characters pulling away so we only just missed rope drop. Spaceship Earth looks so naked without the Epcot sign on it. It was OK before we had got used to it but now it does look odd.
We got fast passes for Soarin’ and then did Living With The Land as there was no queue and then Nemo and friends, followed by Ellen, while we waited for our fast pass time. We love Soarin’ and got another fast pass when we came off but this one wasn’t until the evening. This happened to suit us as we would be leaving the park after lunch to check in at Club Sevilla. Lunch was at Le Cellier and we were really glad we had made an ADR as when we checked in for our table a couple were enquiring about a table and were informed they were fully booked all day!
Theresa is going to do a food thread on the Disney / Universal restaurants so I’m not going to go into details but here’s a picture as I did promise some close up food porn shots.
Well Prawn anyway!
After lunch we did Test Track and managed to finish Joh’s Christmas shopping before walking around the world showcase, stopping to get some Pokemon toys from Japan and coffee and cake in Norway.
The Gingerbread House in the US Shop.
We left Epcot at 4ish to go to Club Sevilla, a timeshare on the 192 close to Medieval Times. We had booked a lock off, which is basically a hotel room with two double beds and a bathroom. This was only a quarter of our annual points allowance and plenty big enough for the two of us.
However when we got into the room the locked off section was wide open and we could have used the whole unit! We battled with our consciences for about ten minutes and then went and reported it. It still took them four days to lock it off so we did take advantage of the fridge for a little while.
Back to Epcot in the evening and got there just in time to see the tree lighting ceremony which was nice.
We went on Honey I Shrunk The Audience. I don’t know about you, but I miss the old true colours music on the pre-show. Next up, we used the fast passes we got this morning for Soarin and this time, well we asked, we got to ride on the first row (we still love this ride and it’s better on the top, no dangling feet to spoil the view!).
We got a hot chocolate from the Four Seasons food court. I picked up the wrong cup so the cashier charged me for a large soda even though he knew it was a small hot chocolate. He told us at the time but we thought he was joking!
Not So Hidden Mickeys on the tray.
We then went back to Test Track’s shop to get some more dice (future Dis quiz prize).
We managed to get a spot by the wall in Canada to watch the fireworks, it looked like most people had their spots sorted for hours before the start so I guess we were lucky to find anywhere.
I managed to get quite a few descent pictures of the fireworks and a nice one of the goodnight sign on spaceship earth on the way out, that we haven’t seen before.
We had a great day and it was good to be back in the parks .
I’ve forgot to mention the weather (something that is extremely un-British), it has been unseasonably hot. We haven’t had any rain so far and it’s been in the mid twenties every day.
