Tuesday 6th May
The Crew
Tony ……………….Driver and general gofer
Theresa…………….Scrapbook shopper extraordinaire
Peggy (my mum)…..I’ll go on anything as long as it’s not upside down.
Zena (my aunt)…….Ditto
We had a bit of a lay-in this morning as we were off to Typhoon Lagoon which didn’t open until 10.00.
Theresa and I used some of our old tickets that still have lots of water park options left on them.
We got a couple of lockers and then went to find some loungers under a gazebo and set out our towels ( German style).
We went on the family raft ride first and it was fun watching Mum and Zena getting properly soaked for the first time.
We went on several of the tube rides but they both really loved the lazy river most. I think this was one of the highlights of the trip for my Mum; she loved laying back in the sun and really chilled out.
We got lunch from Typhoon Tilly’s; Mum and Zena shared a Chicken wrap and fries and Theresa and I shared a Pulled Pork sandwich.
Theresa found a piece of paper in hers so I took it back to the counter, they said they would check the rest of the batch and gave us a second one for free.
This was going to turn into a theme throughout the holiday as you will see. We had booked lots of ADR’s and most would disappoint in one way or another.
After lunch the ladies had a rest on the loungers and I fetched my camera from the lockers. They then went in the wave pool while I was busy with the camera.
We left the park about mid-afternoon and had a look around Downtown Disney.
We bought loads and also got the woven Mickey throw for $15 as we had spent over $50.
We ate at The Rainforest Café which was fun , mainly because Zena is frightened of Thunder and lightning and every time the storm started she would jump even though she knew it wasn’t real.
We went to the big Wal-Mart on the 192 after tea and bought loads more before going back to The Sheraton to watch the second half of The Golden Compose while drinking cups of tea and eating donuts (we are in the USA after all).
