T-shirts for the WDW marathon

I've just sent the info to Sunny that we have the /wish web direct that will appear on the shirt so anyone can get to the site once observing our info now.

Our Webmasters are so helpful...thank you!

This is getting quite exciting for sure. I can see me with shirts as I am training. It would be great if we could order them as they wear out. I think this will be a lasting design!

:grouphug: me too!

Sorry everyone I was under my dad's name this is Kassie and I'll be running the half marathon. :woohoo:

Hey again my mom is also running the half marathon with me. I'm thirteen going on fourteen. This is my first year being able to run the half marathon. :thumbsup2

Group hug, group hug! I'm glad I'm not the only one getting totally mushy over this shirt thing! When we started talking about "WISH gave me the courage to start' I haven't stopped thinking about how real that is for me. I was a gym rat prior to WISH, but I don't think I would have ever made it out the door without WISH :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Where's the tissues?

Sunny

Kassie... :welcome: My daughter will be 14 about a week before the WDW half and she's planning to run it with me also! Please feel free to join us on the walking/running club threads...there's many people there that are training for the half, too!

Yep, I have to agree with those posting that WISH gave me the courage to start....my short story is that I was looking for something to accomplish in my life and at the same time I decided that I needed to be a healthier person. I was coming off of a great trip to WDW for which the DIS boards helped me so much and I discovered the WISH board. At the time, many people were returning from the WDW marathon weekend 2005 and I was very inspired by what they were able to accomplish. I instantly knew that running in the WDW marathon was what my goal needed to be. I had NEVER been a runner before so the sense of accomplishment would be huge...plus I was bound to be healthier along the way. So anyway, there you have it....that is why I am here....and why WISH gave me the courage to start :)

Love the shirts and love the idea of having a shirt to wear year 'round and a shirt specifically designed for the marathon weekend, with only the back changed.

Scott, I couldn't have said this any better myself. You really described my experience too. I was coming off a trip to WDW over Labor Day 2005 and trying to figure out how to get back. Along that same time I decided that I needed to start getting some exercise. I used to be a runner and decided that I wanted to get back to that. I stumbled upon this group. Lily invited me to join, and they've really kept me going for 4 months now. That's the longest I've run or exercised consistently in about 8-10 years. And in a couple of hours I'm going to run in a 10k. Yes, Sunny I'm getting emotional over these shirts too. WISH definitely gave me the courage to start, but also the courage to sustain it.

It's hard to think that I had my mom sign us up for a half marathin the farthest I have ever ran is like five miles. This will be an interesting race and I'll be happy with finishing the race. :cheer2:

Is it a go?

Well said! I can't count how many times my number one motivation to finish a long run was to get back and report to my WISH buddies!

I love the design :thumbsup2

My shirt collection is gonna grow again. Think I better get a bigger dresser :teeth:

Looks great. Thanks for working on the back Sunny. I wanted to help out more with the back design, but you beat me to it. It looks great, and thanks for your hard work. I hope you are recovering from your pneumonia.

I had one suggestion as I was mulling over the design of the back. Can we make the font size smaller as we go from Dead Last Finish to Did Not Finish to Did Not Start? Right now the biggest words are Did Not Start, and I don't think we want to emphasize that.

Dead Last Finish
is greater than
Did Not Finish
Which Greatly Trumps
Did Not Start

Would it also be possible to get some more images on the back? I'm a very visual person. I thought maybe we could have a runner crossing the finish line next to Dead Last Finish, a runner running or with hands on hips for Did Not Finish, and someone sitting on the couch for Did Not Start.

Just an idea.

For me, I like it just the way it is now. If there are fewer "things" they can be larger and have more of an impact. Just my opinion...

Hi Pat :wave2: I see your point too. I'm not picky it was just an idea. I would change the font size though so we're not emphasizing Did Not Start. My font sizes didn't work so well in my previous post, but I would just try to have those words smaller than Dead Last Finish or Did Not Finish. Maybe Sunny could just reverse the font sizes for those 3 phrases?

I think that's a good point, Dave!

Dave, I was thinking the same thing. I really like the font sizes changing, I'd just like them to be biggest with DEAD LAST FINISH.

THanks Sunny and Dave! :thumbsup2 :grouphug:
