A number of reservations for non-disney owned restaurants can be made through Open Table anytime. Not sure if T-Rex is one of them.

Not on open table-got a human today at restaurant who wouldn’t do a rezzie over the phone.

That’s really odd. I called and made a reservation directly at the restaurant for our last trip. You could also get a Landry’s card for priority seating if you aren’t able to get a reservation in advance!

When we went in september I had called at my 60 day mark and was told that they no longer do reservations over the phone. Your best bet is to get the Landry's select club card. You pay $25 and get a $25 introductory credit on your first meal there so its essentially free. But you get priority seating when you show it at the restaurant. It can turn a long wait (without the card) into a 10-15 minute wait with it.

We went on a Saturday evening in June with the Landry’s card and waited 6 minutes for a table. I would recommend it.

Have you personally been to T-Rex? I ask because it’s pretty noisy in there at all times and then gets noisier every few minutes when the comet is coming to earth and there’s loud thunder and all the dinosaurs and mammoths come to life. Some 2 year olds will do fine with it, some won’t (our DD at 2 would have been scared). Not everyone realizes this, and I didn’t want y’all to be ambushed by it!

We went years ago when my son was younger (he's 24 now), lol. It's all coming back to me now with the comet, lol. I completely forgot they did that.

But......my Grandson loves scary stuff. His favorite Disney movies are always the ones with "monsters", lol. He loves Turning Red, and calls it the Red Monster. And he's very much into this kind of thing and loud roar type noises. He's a hoot!! He's changed a lot this year too, and will be closer to 3 than 2 when we go!!

Thanks for letting me know, I can definitely see how some kids would be scared by that. My daughter at 2 would have been.

It worked-today! Tip-right off the gift shop there’s a door that has a sandbox for kids to dig in. Great spot while you wait for food or pay the tab. The service was incredibly slow so this was great!

Also-we sat in the cave? During the louder part it wasn’t so bad-and the lights turned pink instead of dark. If your little one may be scared it was much better than the other rooms.

Today was our 60 day mark, so we were able to get our reservations for the time we wanted at T-Rex (and got everything we wanted for the times we wanted)!!

So excited!!
