Have reservations for this place with DH and two DD's 13,15. The selection of food looked really good which is why I chose it but after reading about it it seems that alot of families especially with boys like to go there for the atmosphere. So my question is this: Is the food good there? The girls enjoyed the Rain Forest Cafe. I don't mind it being noisy and all but we are going more for the food than the atmosphere. So should I keep it or try something else. TIA

We never make reservations there. We are always able to walk right in and be seated. I personally think the food is good there. I don't really care for The Rain Forest Cafe, I've had bad expereinces there. I always get the Pterodactyl salad which is super yummy to me. I love the atmosphere to the place and the waiters are sooooo nice!!!:thumbsup2 I would definitely give it a try!:)

We have eaten there and enjoyed it! The atmosphere was great and my kids really really liked it and the food was good too. I would keep your ressie...but that's just me.

Quite frankly, it was the best meal we had all week last Sept - it's one of our new favorites. We've been back twice since and have ressies to go in a couple of weeks. My only complaint is how loud it is inside.

I have two boys & we love it! I like it because the food is very good. I have been craving their ribs all week!! I would definitely give it a try!pirate:

we love this place, we try to go once on every trip. our 10yr dd loves it and me and dh split the collosal nachos, they are delicious and is plenty for both of us. our dd still loves going in the build a dino and digging fossils. can't wait to be there in 2 months!!

I personally, like the RFC better. The food is similar, but to me the food at RFC tastes better. Having said that, it's not that it's bad food. We'll be going to both RFC and T-Rex (our boys asked to go, otherwise I'd be happy just going twice to RFC) again this year. It doesn't hurt to try it.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I just didn't know if two teenage girls would like it but it sounds like the food is good so that is what really matters.

We love it! not just for the atmosphere, the food is great! The only thing I was not crazy about was when I tired the burger, but who cares about a burger when you have delicious ribs!! :rotfl: We have been there with both boys and girls and they have loved it.!

Thanks for the replies. One more question for anyone that used the dining plan can you get the chocolate extinction for the dessert on the plan? It looks delicious and I think two of those would be enough for all four of us maybe even one would be enough I don't know. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My DH and I ate there this past week and really enjoyed both the atmosphere and food. We split an order of the buffalo wings and the ribs. I thought that they were both really good. We joined the Landry's select club before we left and had $50 credit ($25 credit for joining and $25 credit for my b-day month) so that covered the cost of our meal. The club cost $25 to join so it was basically $25 off. I would definitely recommend T-Rex. Have fun.

We're going here in Jan for my DS birthday dinner. We will have gift cards that we got through Mypoints, so the meal should be free. What does the membership give you besides those credits? Is there a percentage off the bill?

I say keep it! Its a must do for our family, its a tradition to eat here every trip on our first night in Orlando (night before checking into WDW resort) it is loud but so much fun! From all the dinos roaring and moving, to meteor showers, to ice cave changing colors, to the giant octupus above the bar moving.. The food is plentiful and good! If you like sweet cocktails you got to try the cottontini..

DH always get the chicken fried steak, its HUGE and very good, I normally get something off the appy menu for my meal, last time I got the footprint flatbread and it was yummy, so big I could have shared it with someone else for a MEAL! We will be there Sat and I already decided I want the trexidilla off the appy menu..LOL

DD normally gets the sandwhich on fried pizza dough, she loves it and talks all yr about it but I wish she could order a half size its wayyyy to big! I may ask if she can..

We have eaten at the TRex many times. My only complaint is the time I had a migraine and had to sit in the "ice" room. The ever changing light combo made me absolutely nauseous and they couldn't change our table. I ended up leaving and left the family to finish the meal. I think from now on we'll stick with the RFC might be loud but that I can handle...

Thanks for all the replies. We decided to change to a different restaurant as I did not realize that T-Rex is not accepted on DDP. We will have to give it a try another time.

Hi EPCOTatNight,

In addition to collecting points you get a $25 welcome bonus and a $25 dollar birthday bonus. There's no additional percentage off with this card (but I heard that there is a Triple A discount - but haven't confirmed this). The card does cost $25 so it's basically a free $25 dollars. Plus, I plan to use mine to collect points throughout the year at local Landry's restaurants and then use the bonus points for our trip to WDW next year!

Have fun!!

Another perk is you can present your Landry's Select Card to get priority seating.... meaning.... if you don't have a reservation, they will still aim to seat you within 20 minutes... and that's good at Yak and Yeti, T-Rex, and Rainforest Cafe in Disney World, Orlando. I have not heard that reservations are a problem, but Yak and Yeti is often hard to get a reservation through Disney. And we love Yak and Yeti....!

The atmosphere in there is very cool if you have kids who like Dinosaurs. I would definitely do it once if that is the case. I will say that we thought the food was way overpriced (expected, but just commenting) and very mediocre. Not terrible, but nothing I would go back for. Service was good.
