We will have one dinner on our own not on the Disney Dining plan. The T-Rex looks cool but expensive. I have a two and 5 year old boys. Is it worth it? Do I need to get a reservation?
I'm wondering the same thing. I've read good reports and I have a 3 yr old that isreally into Dinosuars so we are going to give it a try for lunch in 10 days.
I took two teenage boys. I thought the food was so so but they liked it. I did think it was a bit loud. If I needed some down time during lunch or dinner I would not choose this restaurant. The gift shop area is smaller than the Rain Forest Cafe.
We haven't been yet but it will be our first thing on our arrival day while waiting to get our room key @ SSR- My boys are 7, 10, 16, & 17 and our DD is 12 - The younger ones will LOVE it and the rest I am sure will think it's cool! The menu sounds crumptious! We are footin' an OOP meal for it for the experience and hope the food is pretty good! Good Luck!
We went in Dec and we thought it was great. My middle daughter is a dinosaur freak, she loved the place.
Food is on the expensive side, but they gave nice portions. If you stick to burgers and sandwhiches it isn't that bad.
We enjoyed it when we went last November. They had just opened so it was extremely crowded. It was loud, but neat. I think it is an experience worth checking into.
We went about a month ago. The portions are HUGE (and I am a big eater). It is a cool place, but very loud.
I would worry how your 2 year old would handle it. We were surrounded by several toddlers, who did NOT like it when the "show" was on. Several cried, others just looked very apprehensive. I don't think I saw a child under the age of 3 who appeared to like the show.
We were there two weeks ago with grankids (age-7,6,3). They loved it. Like any such restaurant food was expensive and nothing special, but who goes for the food. It will be hard to avoid the next time grankids are with us.
We do find the food to be better than RFC. The food is good and prices are not bad if you know what to expect. You are not paying for the food, but rather the experience.
