T Rex reservation question

I tried to make a reservation for dinner during a spontaneous trip in January. There was nothing available for this date. Has anyone had success recently in a walk up for dinner at T Rex?

Did you try calling T-Rex directly? Or did you go through online and/or Disney Dining?

T-Rex (and several other non-Disney restaurants like it) do not release all their tables to the Disney Dining reservations and there's a good chance of getting a table directly through them even if it says it's full on Disney's side.

If you did, and it was still all booked up, will have to let someone else reply .

We were there jan 09 and had no trouble, got seated right away for 5 people.

First I checked online and it showed that there was no availability for my date. I then called Disney Dining and the operator stated the same. I asked if I could try a walk up and she said that now the whole restaurant is under the disney reservation system so it wasn't likely. She suggested that I keep trying in case there is a cancellation. We ate there last January and last June and just waited about 20 minutes after walking up. I may call the restaurant directly just to double check. Thanks for your input.

I called t-rex directly (for our Dec ressies). Maybe this #(407) 827-7777

I tried online and could get anything for the first week of Feb. So I called and got a reservation for the day and time I wanted. I suggest giving a call.

Definately call TRex directly (not Disney Dining). It is my understanding that TRex only releases a certain amount of reservations to Disney Dining. I was able to call and change our reservation 2 different times for our trip in Dec with no problems. They will use your last name as a confirmation number.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I just called T Rex directly at 407-828-8739 and they were able to give me the exact date and time! The disney operator gave me incorrect information yesterday. She had told me that I couldn't book a reservation directly through the restaurant because disney now booked ALL of the tables for T Rex. Should have known...a different operator probably would have given me a yet different answer!!

(I thought I was going to have to dissapoint my DD because I couldn't get an ADR at T-Rex.)

Just called and got the exact day and time I wanted....

The lady at T-Rex told me that Disney does not book their reservations anymore, that we need to call them directly. I just called yesterday and got a reservation for 7 people Christmas week.

Last year when we went they weren't taking reservations just walk ups, so I didn't think about reserving it when we planned our ADRs. After reading this thread I called TRex directly to get a reservation for our trip in early December and was able to get it no problem. woohoo!

I just called T-Rex directly and got a table for 7 this Saturday evening. This last minute trip planner wishes all the WDW restaurants were that easy to book.

Thank you ,thank you, thank you, have been trying to get reservations for T-Rex since 10/31 and Disney reservations said no the place is booked try as a walk up. Read your informative post and called and guess what???? Got a reservation for 11/28. YEA!!! I love DISboards!!!!!

I'm so glad that this thread is helping people to get reservations that they had thought were pretty impossible to get. It just goes to show that some of the disney operators are misinformed and the informationn that they give us is sometimes "not quite right". Thanks to all who gave us the correct information.
