I sent Landry Inc an e-mail about T-Rex.
They called me back today :woohoo:

Landry T-Rex offical told me the T-Rex in DTD will be opening this Spring 2008 unless some building problems arise. Hey it's new construction, things do happen.

He also said I could use my RFC Safari card at the T-Rex restaurant to get a free appetizer. The Landry T-Rex official was unsure about prefered seating or 10% off meal benefits. T-rex does not have their own club cards out as of yet (1-9-08).

I asked if other T-Rex's would be buildt, other than Kansas City & DTD. He said they wer possible looking into Atlanta, GA or Texas. They want to be near a large tourist attraction. They did look into NYC - but I am sure the price of land and taxes scared them away.

We will definitely have T-Rex on our list of to do's next time we visit WDW.
Here is their website to check the menu out:

Thanks for the link - the menu looks yummy!:goodvibes

Hope it is open early May because I'd lik to try it out.

Thanks for the info....We have been looking forward to the opening of T-rex since it was announced...:cool1:

I think it will be a nice addition to DTD. The T-Rex here in KC is very popular. They have, of course, very similar food to Rainforest Cafes. :)

Can't wait! Looking forward to it next January! There are plenty of Landry's restaurants here in Houston. I hope they don't build a TRex here so we'll have something to look forward to on our Disney trips. The food is so-so but my kids love the atmosphere.

customer..."where are my cheese fries?"

T-Rex....."rhaw, gnarl, rhaw, roar, " or translated.....I can't reach them off the counter......because i have a big head and small arms.....

I checked out the websight. Very neat. We just went to BBC's walking with dinosaurs and my boys will love it. We will probably go even if its not on the dining plan. YEAH :woohoo: another thing NOT geared towards princesses princess: , no offense to all the princesses out there, but I am surrounded by testosterone 24/7.

HAHAHA me too!!!:) ALL males here

Thanks for posting this info. Plus this means a new restaurant for my family and I to try when we are at WDW this coming August.

:thumbsup2 You, might I say, rock. That was hilarious!

Does anyone know where there are pictures of other T-Rex restaurant sites? I saw it on this forum a while back but I don't have much luck with the search engine.....

We'll be going in May '08 and DS would be ecstatic to dine there since he's a dinosaur nut. But I've seen a pic of the DTD site with a sign saying "coming Fall of 2008".:confused3

Did he give you any idea as to when in the spring? My DD would love this place. I'm taking her in early May.

I have no information on an opening date, but was in DTD yesterday and it is nowhere near completion.

Currently there are cinderblock walls, but no roofing.

There is large wooden privacy screening all around the location but the walls can be seen above the wood panels.

I was there a few weeks ago, and it may have been my photo referred to.

This was taken January 27th - 2008, 2.5 weeks ago, and they have a long way to go !!!!

Plus it says right on the sign FALL 2008 and that looks about right.

our first night. I was thinking of Raglan Road, but T-rex would be more to my boys' liking.

Like a complete idiot, I moved away from KCMO without ever having taken my boys there. Funny how living in a major metropolitan area for 20 years twists your brain. I figured that the things there were everywhere.

Now here I am on the Front Range in CO...not only no T-Rex, no Disney store (until April at least), no drive-ins, no major catalog stores or Cargo Largo's, sigh!!!

Worst of all, no decent BBQ.

But, I digress. Thanks for the good news! I'll keep an eye out and hope it's open by the end of May!!!
