T-Rex Cafe opens in KC... AK is next

Just ate at the new T-Rex Cafe in Kansas City (first ever to open) and it was awesome! They are building the new one on Animal Kingdom and it is a lot like Rainforest Cafe (same owners) but its dinosaur themed. They have a Build-A-Dino like the Build-A-Bear workshop that all the kids loved. We sat next to a huge Triceratops and were greeted by a huge animatronic T-Rex and a giant octopus. We also loved the Chocolate Eruption for dessert. It is sure to be a favorite at Disney. Check it out at their website.

I can't wait to go to the one in KC. Will be moving very close to you next month. So, I'll have to take my son. He's going to Love it!! Glad to hear it's as good as it sounds.

It is at the Legends Shopping center near the Kansas Speedway and Cabella's. It is off of 435 if you can tell me which direction you are coming from I can be happy to give you directions. Your kids will love it and the shopping center it is located in is a site itself. You should really go but beware it just opened on Tuesday and it is very crowded.

T Rex will be in DTD. An Asian restauarant operated by Landrys (also owns T-Rex and Rainforest) will open in AK.

We'll be coming in from western Kansas on I-70 and heading out to the airport to pick up my sister. I'm sure it'll be easy to find - we've been to Cabelas and Great Wolf Lodge - I'm assuming it is in that general area. Thanks for posting pictures - I'm hoping we'll have time to stop there on one of our trips in the next few weeks.

Is it just me or does the menu look about 80% like an RFC menu, just with different names for the dishes?

I thought the food was a little less wierd than the food I have had at RFC and I am in love with the Cobb Salad from T-Rex. I was never impressed with anything I had at RFC.

I'm hoping we have time to stop and eat at this restaurant - the kids will love it and we thought the food at RFC in DTD at DL was good. If we don't get time, then perhaps on one of our many trips to KC.

On the website it says coming soon to downtown disney marketplace.

This looks awesome! My 7 yo son will love this. Hopefully it will be complete and we will be able to make a corresponding trip before his lifelong love of dinos has been completely outgrown!
