T-Rex Cafe in Downtown Disney

The food there is good, not great, but okay. As stated before EASILY shared. But a major DO is the huge dessert that they put the dry ice in the shaker on, it impressed DS5 and DN(nephew)8 to no end. Also was big enough for all of us to have a substantial portion (we had a total of five adults and two boys eating it). We got to sit under the giant Jellyfish and DS had a steggo over his shoulder the entire meal. They loved the meteor showers. Even the BATHROOMS with the fossils in the walls impressed the boys.

We did build a dino for DS5, DN8, and DN 5 months. They all still play with them, the voice boxes all still work on them. They have been told they may have new accessories next trip, but not a new dino.

Over all a good experience. It was pricey for us going in as we didn't know anything about it. There is some kind of club you can join at Rainforest Cafe, and some kind of kids coupon you can get... my sis does all of our research. Split the adult meals. Sign up for build a bear email club, maybe catch some coupons to use at build a dino. A note, the bear clothes fits the dinos, so I would venture to say the dino gear will fit the bears. To save a bit more money, let them outfit a build a bear they already have in dino gear.

Take pictures, pictures, and more pictures. Go at an off time. We nearly had the place to ourselves and got so many pics because of it!

We went there this Spring because my little daughter loves dinosaurs. She was really scared of the T-Rex in the front and the meteor shower scared her but she loved the rest of it. She did keep an eye on the T-Rex the whole time making sure it didn't get any close to her. If your kids might be frightened, I would suggest getting a table in the ice age room or the room in the back which is like a jungle. The food was good but when it comes to places like that and Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood and other touristy restaurants, I think it's more about the atmosphere.

The food is good the only thing we have had that wasn't was the chicken sandwich on pizza dough:confused3. Kinda like a wrap but NOT!

I thought the chicken sandwich on pizza dough was one of the best things I ate all week.

The other cool thing is that after you place your order they encourage you to get up and walk around. Took many great pictures while waiting for our food.

We went for our wedding anniversary in March. (yeah - we are those people, LOL) We both were more excited about the appetizers than the meals so we each ordered one and shared. We also got a dessert to split and we were STUFFED - the portions were huge!! I want to say after tip it ran about $50. The food was good but pricey for what it is. It was still worth it for the atmosphere! We had a blast!

I went here in November last year for lunch and I enjoyed it. I had the aged salmon and it was very good. Also since I am diabetic they did make me a ice cream desert for diabetics. The service was great. I would go here again for sure and I am 67 years old and enjoyed very much.

We went back in December just for the atmosphere, and were pleasantly surprised by the food. I don't remember what we got for our entrees, but we got the bruschetta for our appetizer and it was great. The meteor showers happened a little too often for me though. The first few times it was fun. By the 6th it was just annoying. Good food though!

I do not recommend sitting in the 'ice cave' room (blue room). Before going, I had read several posters experiences of feeling sick while in that room because of the lighting and I thought "no way". I never get sick from stuff like that but that room literally made me dizzy and feeling faint lol.

The food was ok, not bad. The price was outrageous. Im pretty sure my sons burger cost $22. My mother had the Layers of Earth Lasagna and it looked SO good. I have craved it ever since.

Its worth going a time or two.

DH and I went there in March during our anniversary trip. We wanted to check it out (ie-less $$) before we dragged the whole family in Oct. We sat in the ice room and it never bothered either one of us. :confused3 We shared some wings for an appetizer (yum). I ordered the nachos for my meal and dh got the fish & chips. Both portions were absolutely enormous! DH finished his and said it was good. I only got about 1/2 way through the nachos and gave up. Definitely better if split between at least 2 people IMO. Overall, we thought the food was decent but pretty expensive. We're planning on taking our 4 kids there in Oct for our family trip. We'll just have to take out a second mortgage to do it. :rotfl:

We had a 10PM reservation on Easter Sunday. We arrived an hour early and they were able to sit us in 20 minutes as a walk up. The place is noisy but everyone loved it. We sat near the ice room next to the big jellyfish with dinosaurs in our room. The atmosphere was fantastic. The price was what I expected. My teen had the giant burger, on a mission to finish it. We were too full for dessert. It was a great way to start our trip.

We were on the dining plan and yes, worth the cash outlay. We will eat here again. We did the build a dino and next time little ones know that it is only an outfit purchase not another dino.
