We just switched to T-Mobile a few months ago, just wondering how their coverage was in the WDW area. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I don't know. I had Cingular last trip and the coverage was fine. Now I have AT&T GSA. Anyone know about AT&T coverage?

I have T-Mobile and used it the last few times I've been to WDW. It worked great for local calls, calls to others inside the parks and also calls to home (Indiana).

Thanks for the info!

I have T-Mobile and last July I wasn't able to get a signal anywhere inside or outside of the building at the WL. My mother, who has another carrier(not sure which one), was able to make calls from inside her room at the WL without a problem.

I didn't carry my phone to the parks, so I don't know if I could have gotten a signal outside of the WL grounds.

I also just switched form cingular to At&T GSM and was wondering how the coverage was in the park and the hotel. We will be staying at PC. With Cingular I had a perfect signal in WDW and in out hotel room (better than at home)

I have made 7 trips to WDW with my T Mobile. We have no problems in the parks or while we are outside of our room. I do have a low signal or no signal in the rooms at all of the hotels I have stayed at except All STar Movies in which it worked just fine.

I have T-moblie service and have made calls from it at Disney. I have found that the places that I get the best service are: At the airport, just outside of the rooms (I have stayed at the Caribbean, All-Star, and Coronando Resorts and all is the same) and in the parks.

I am from MN, so I am not sure if that has anything to do with the coverage area?

We just got back from 8 days @ WDW & 3 days at Universal. We used our T-Mobile cell phones. Occasionally my Nokia phone would loose the signal, so I just shut it off, waited a minute & turned it back on, it then would come back with the full signal.

We have used T-mobile for several years (converted over from Voicestream) and have used the service with a couple of different phones at the parks in the last few trips. This last trip we upgraded our phones beforehand (dual-band) and I don't recall having any trouble with them. Usually if I have a weak signal somewhere I can move a few feet and it corrects the problem. Some problems aren't necessarily with the service itself, but also with the type of phone you have. Overall, I would say that T-mobile works fine in the parks.

HTH!

Make sure you don't have the 3000 anytime minutes plan. That's what we had and we didn't know that it DOES NOT include long distance. We got socked with about $200 of long distance and roming fees!!!!! luckily, they withdrew the charges, but now we know for the future!!!!

I was not able to get good service most places in Disney World when I had a T-Mobile phone. I stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside and had to walk around in circles before finding a place to stand where I had minimal reception. This past vacation I used my Verizon phone and had great service.

We're from the UK and we had coverage with either AT&T Mobile or T-Mobile when we were at WDW. Well, I say "coverage" but what I really mean is "lack of coverage". GSM coverage in the WDW sucks! It's like the bad old days of 1994 when we had to worry about GSM coverage in the UK.

I have AT&T GSM and have never had any signal problems in DW including inside the hotels. ::MickeyMo
