T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

My oldest DS is a pilot and is about to start his commercial training. We are kind of excited about getting knocked on our butts....:lmao:

Lori, That's awesome! I first learned to fly at 17. Glad to see some people still have the passion, the flying community is shrinking! Bet of luck to your DS on his pursuit. I am guessing he is looking to fly either for the airlines or charter? I only do it as a hobby, but plan to get my commercial and CFI so I can instruct on the side.

As for the FE, I will let you know...just PM if you enact a deadline as I am not on as often as I'd like.

I can't wait to meet everyone and have a fantastic time on our cruise.

While my DH and older DS are with a bunch of you on the kayak and hike trip in St Thomas, I'll be with my other 2 on the Coral World Ocean land and sea excursion. In St Maarten we are all going on the Golden Eagle Catamaran.

Lori - Thank you so much! my family loves them!!! My father-in-law especially! He is like a little kid! Wants me to print it out already. HA!

Shay - love the shirt, talented girl!

StacieinAtlanta - we will have to share a birthday cocktail.. as my birthday is November 1st... :) And we got married in St. Thomas... but 12 years ago November.

Djoch - can't wait to meet everyone either. And we have officially decided that our DD 11 will be able to check herself in and out and will have free roam except to go to the cabin. She will need to be with one of us in those areas. Otherwise she can just keep in touch as to where she is and when she will check in. Have to start giving her some freedoms...:scared: oh boy!

Does anyone else bring on their own alcohol? Thinking of bringing a couple bottles of wine but not sure if it is necessary with the tastings, drink of the day, and corking fees....

We bring our own alcohol. DH brings his favorite beer (and still manages to drink plenty more on the ship) and I take along a bottle of rum to use in the sodas and fruit punch. And I also still manage to rack up quite the bar bill. Not that I'm constantly drunk, I just like the expensive drinks on board. On the Dream, it didn't take much in Skyline or Pink to get a big bill.

That's an excellent idea.

Shay - really great t-shirt design.

Lori - you are absolutely right!!! I am going to make us shirts! Thanks!!
Just keeps getting better!! :cool1:

DD and I spent some time yesterday working on our Fish Extender gifts... so exciting!

Home today... college closed due to flooding... we just got our basement dried up and here we go again... 1st time it ever flooded was from Irene, now it has happened again.... :sad2: And in between, we were struck with a lightning explosion which fried the power to our garage and our phone and satelite system.. Can't make this stuff up!!! :scared1:

I need this vacation! Can't wait for that konk cooler and the mojito tasting, and the wine tasting, and bring on Palo Brunch!! I am going to sit by the quiet pool with the book "the Help" (yes, I am saving it for my trip) and bask in the sun.:cloud9:

We're right there with you. We're on our second "snow day" this year, and it's only Sept. 8th. DS is supposed to graduate this year, and at this rate, his class is going to be going to school through next summer! There are too many rivers and creeks going through our area, with lots of flooding. At least we still have our electricity this time.

I'm sooo looking forward to this vacation. I just hope the school district doesn't take away our vacation days.

Lauri

Lauri - hope you are not by the Wilkes Barre Area.. Heard that was getting hit pretty hard too! This weather has been crazy. This was also the second day we have been closed. While I love a day off, I would rather not have all this stress that goes with it. And the students will be required to make up the classes, so this should be interesting. They will love that! HA!

Stay dry!!!

Elsie

Hi Elsie,

We're not in Wilkes-Barre, thank goodness. They've evacuated whole towns there in preparation for the flooding of the Susquehanna River this evening. I'm north of Philadelphia, and we have flooding of the Delaware River, and even worse, the Neshaminy Creek. We've already been informed by the school district that that may be the cause of closing the schools tomorrow too.

Not too much rain here today since this morning, and the "lake" across from my house is starting to recede. The kids are really hoping for school tomorrow.

You stay dry too!

Lauri

Lori,

Thank you so much for the graphic! I love it!! However, I am clearly not smart enough to figure out how to put it in my signature. Oh well.

Lisa,

I saved mine to Photobucket and then put it in under the User CP (up there on the left hand side of the screen). Choose Edit Signature and you can put the HTML code in there. The code will be on your Photobucket picture.

I also reduced the size a little to make it small enough to fit into my signature.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi all-

We had planned to cruise on the 4 night Dream over Thanksgiving due to DS's school schedule (almost 12-7th grade). However, yesterday his school district decided to cancel school for the entire week of Thanksgiving!! :thumbsup2 As a result, we transferred our reservation today to the 7 night Magic!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 We love spending Thanksgiving on DCL!! We have either been on the Magic or Wonder each year since 2004. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Also, we would love to join the FE exchange. Please let us know what information is needed.

Thanks, Chuck and Lisa

I also believe that we have traveled with some of you before, in 2009, I believe if memory serves me correctly.

Chuck:cool1:

Hi Chuck, Lisa, and family. Welcome home!!! :goodvibes You guys were very kind and welcoming to our family in 2009. And we had a great trip!! I remember your son too! Hope he is doing well!

We also traveled with you in 2008. I was very surprised you weren't on this cruise at the start! Glad you were able to change to a week long cruise instead of a 4 day (though that wouldn't have been so bad either.)

Thank you very much for the warm welcomes!! :thumbsup2 We appreciate the kindness!! Our DS is very excited to sail on the Magic again!! He feels very at home on the ship!! We are looking forward to seeing y'all again!!

We were also on the Magic for Thanksgiving 2009. Welcome to the fun. Glad you can do a full week. Our DS (also soon to be 12) may remember yours and should have a great time together (not that he wasn't already happy to be surrounded by all the girls his age in our group)

Currrently waiting for the sun to come out and the waters to dry up. Surprising amount of road washouts and flooding here in the Washington DC area. Today was to be day 4 of school - agree that needing to use it as a snow day is both weird and concerning for the rest of the school year.:teacher:

Definitely makes me more excited to count the days until our cruise. Believe I finally have a plan for FE gifts. ;)
