Just signed DD up for tball. The games dont start until the end of March...but I hate waiting till last minute to do things. So with that said...where can we find toddler sized cleats for her??? I have heard they run pretty small...her normal shoe size is 8 so she may even be able to wear close to a 10????

We don't do cleats in t-ball, and some leagues don't even allow them. I would be hesitant to put cleats on a toddler. She should learn how to play the game first. They really don't need them at that level. Save your $$, if she's got mad skillz, you'll have plenty of chances to get her stuff later.

My DD will be 8 this year, is at coach-pitch level, and just started cleats last spring. She's been playing since she was 3.

Yep, probably do not need cleats yet.........

My DD is 8 and plays soccer & softball.

The past couple of years, we had her wear her soccer cleats for softball too. You can do this, but not the other way around. You can't wear softball cleats for soccer b/c there is an extra spike.

In our league, cleats are recommended for t-ballers and pants are required (although they don't enforce it). We buy most of our cleats from Olympia Sporting Goods -- between coupons and sales, they're not too bad. I can't remember what size my older DS wore when he started t-ball, but that's where we got them. My younger DS started t-ball at 4 last year too, and he wore the hand-me-downs!

We also went with cleats for my older one because he has some balance issues. Having a good grip on the ground helps him.

Lots of kids play in regular sneakers, though. It seems to be the ones with older siblings who play in the minors/majors who have cleats and "real" baseball pants -- I think that's because they want to be like their older siblings, not to mention the availabilty (I can't spell that today) of hand-me-downs.

Last piece of advice -- buy now if you think you're going to! Once the season starts, it's hard to find things in the right sizes. It seems like most stores stock them once and then that's it. That's true for both indoor and outdoor soccer, too, BTW.

T-ball's fun! I love being a baseball parent -- all those warm late spring evenings when the most important thing in the world for you to do is be outside, watching your child play a game and chatting with your neighbors. Enjoy!

If you really want her to wear cleats, try consignment stores. I see tons of them at my local store. They outgrow them so fast anyways, some look brand spanking new. Target also carries them.

What age league is this where t-ball kids are only wearing a size 8 or 10? Seems so early to be having kids playing organized games.

The smallest I have found was at Payless and it was a size 9. My son is almost 7 and only wears a size 11. I agree for the first year or so, you can get away with regular sneakers.

He is average height for a 4 year old, but weighs 61 lbs...

And thing in, not real "fat", just huge across the shoulders.. my mom likes to say "he is built like a #^$% brickhouse"...

Here they do cleats for t-ball, not required but most have them along with bats and their own helmets.

I bought my son's at Walmart one year and Target another. I did pick them up when I saw his size since they do seem to come and go quickly. Target will probably have a sale on bats, mitts, etc for $9 some time soon.

And thing in, not real "fat", just huge across the shoulders.. my mom likes to say "he is built like a #^$% brickhouse"...

Ds8 (size 2) is a little above average in height (about the same % as his sister),but only 55 pounds, but very weirdly muscular (has some very defined arm and shoulder muscles, and a definite six pack!). But he is narrow.
