I'm deciding between these two colleges right now.

Both have great Communications programs. Both are very reputable schools...

BU is 1 hour from home.
Syracuse is 5.5.

BU has access to a city (and therefore, modeling opportunities)
Syracuse is next to a tiny little city.

BU is not super hands-on.
Syracuse starts having you participate in amazing things Frosh year (for communications)

BU is super-ugly...inside and out.
Syracuse is extremely asthetically pleasing.
(Note: I am a big asthetics person...)

BU is in New England...weather=warmer when Spring comes.
Syracuse = winter almost all school-year round.

BU is almost expected to be where I'll go...Mom AND Aunt both went there.
Syracuse is a new and exciting adventure

So basically...Boston has all the location/weather/etc. those factors going for it...
Syracuse has the best education and opportunities...

Idk what to do??? :confused3
I can't ever decide on a PROM DRESS...nevermind where I'm going to spend the next four years of my life.

Looking at this list...it looks like BU has more "pros"....but I also haven't visited Syracuse...and I know more about BU...
We'll see where I am after I go visit Syracuse sometime this month...

I just kinda needed to vent...any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would say go to Syracuse. I know proximity is a great thing, but that school, from what I hear, is awesome as far as educational values go. I know a few people who have gone to that school and rave about. Hmmm...maybe try looking at the college board here on the DIS and see if anyone has mentioned anything about it (if not, ask) lol. I, myself, and trying to decide between Westfield State and Springfield College lol.

The only piece of advice that I have is, don't not (double neg. I know) go to one of them that you really want to, because you're scared. Take a chance on something new. good Luck with whatever you pick.

Both sound like good choices, but...I think that visiting Syracuse would be the best thing for you to do. That may be the thing that can make your decision. I know you don't have a lot of time (May 1st!!!) to go around visiting schools, but you said you'll visit this month, which is good. :thumbsup2

BU sounds like a school that could foster your modeling career, while Syracuse would focus on your communications career. It's kind of a choice between what you really want to do and what you could get a job in.

If you go to BU and can't get a modeling job, you'll always have your communications to fall back on. At Syracuse though, you could try to get a modeling job after college, and still have the communications degree to fall back on...so I'm really creating more of a dilemma.

So, sorry Ash if I made this more confusing, but I just wanted to give you a few things to think about!

No no, Claire, that's really good advice. All those ARE important things to think about. Shelby, your advice was very interesting...made me feel a little braver about college (I needed that). And LovesDisney (sorry, I don't know your name yet) but thank you for your input and helping me put everything into one summary.

anytime :)

I'm sure whatever you choose you'll have a great time while youre there.

Well.. I guess it really matters by what you want more..

-A really good education

-Or close to home, family and modeling

I would say Syracuse, this is because you can always see your family, but you only go to college once. :thumbsup2

But you really have to decided between modeling and communications I guess.

Personally I have always be a little bias towards BU. I have a friend that goes there right now and she loves it. I have always liked the city atmosphere and everytime I go to Logan airport I love passing BU. Although Syracuse is a great school and could provide many educational opportunities. Either way they are both great schools.
