Anyone flown out of Syracuse airport? Any hints or suggestions and is there anywhere other than the airport to park my car??

As well, has anyone flown with Jetblue and if so what are they like?

Syracuse is a great "little" airport. It's easy to get around in and not a mad hectic place at all. Parking at the airport is easy and convenient and reasonably priced.

If you have an early flight, there are several hotels nearby that offer a good deal for staying overnight and leaving your vehicle with them. They offer a shuttle to the airport.

The cost of flying out of Ottawa or Toronto is soooooo much more expensive than flying out of the U.S. that the decision to drive south of the border is an easy one.

There are more direct flights and cheaper rates out of Detroit and even Buffalo, but for those of us here in the east, Syracuse is a great option.

As for Jet Blue... sorry, but never used them. :surfweb:

Yes, I flown Jet Blue out of Syacuse. Jet Blue is the best discount airlines I flown recently.

I did the sleep, park & fly from the :
Comfort Inn & Suites Airport (NY341)
6701 Buckley Road , Syracuse, NY, US, 13212 | Phone: (315) 457-4000 Fax: (315) 453-7877

free hot breakfast,

would do it again (Jet blue & Comfort Inn) in a heartbeat.

Thanks for all the great information!! :goodvibes

So you happen to know which hotels offer the deal to let us leave our vehicle with them. I was just trying to find out this information myself online. I was making a list of hotels to call:rotfl: We were hoping to drive to Syracuse the night before our flight after work and stay in a hotel that would let us leave our car there, so you hit the nail right on the head!!:goodvibes

Dec 8-12/07- We actually stayed offsite from Nov 29-Dec8/07 at a timeshare condo, but the last four days were at the POP.

So I was at WDW for 2 weeks total!

This year I've got 2 weeks at BWV in Nov :yay:

I haven't stayed there, but I've heard lots of positive comments about the Comfort Inn & Suites.

BWV!! WOW!!

We checked into POP Dec 8!! We were in the 70's building how about you?

Syracuse airport is great and about 3 hours from ottawa. We stayed at a hotel the night before where we had a park and fly, but this year, we have decided to just drive to the airport and leave our car there. Just make sure you have a shuttle that takes you to the airport. We had to take a cab to and from the airport and it was a pain with the luggage and such.

When are you leaving? We are going on September 13 on the direct flight to Orlando with Jet Blue and got a great deal a few months back.

We are planning to leave on Sept 12th and return on the 22nd. I haven't actually booked the airfare yet;) Would I be too nosy to ask what kind of deal you got?? If so just ignore.

We are staying at POP how about you, maybe we will run into each other. Do you live in OTtawa?

I think :confused3 , we were in the 50's building, the building that was 2 over to the right of the check in. So i guess we were there at the same time, isn't it amazing at Christmas time:santa: in Disney

We always fly out of Syracuse, and this will be our third time flying with JetBlue. We love JetBlue!!

We usually stay at the Best Western Airport Inn. It is located right at the edge of the airport property, so the shuttle takes about a minute and a half, door to door. They have a park and fly rate. We stayed at the Comfort Inn last time, but didn't like it as well as the Best Western, however I believe it was significantly less expensive. I will price out both today for Dec trip and post the rates.

ETA: Just got an email from West Jet with sales for travel in Sept. Seat sale was $169. each way, and STILL came to $2223.36 for 4 return tickets. Each flight was 6-7+ hours in duration. We booked out Dec flights with JetBlue when rates were released in May. Our cost is $997 CDN Total, for 4 return tickets. Flight down is non-stop, return flight stops at JFK.

I checked park and fly rates for both Comfort Inn on Buckley Rd, and the Best Western Airport Inn. Rates were almost identical: $129 for Comfort Inn and $135 for Best Western. These rates were for leaving the car for 10 days.

We chose the Best Western because we liked it better than Comfort Suites, and it is very easy to get to/from both by car and shuttle. We would have chosen Comfort Suites, however,if the free hot breakfast was available to us, but it doesn't start until 6:00 am, and our flight is at 7:20. We will want to be leaving for the airport by no later than 6:00, so we wouldn't have time for the breakfast. The restaurant at BW is open at 5:00, and they have free continental breakfast available from 4:30, so at least there we will have the option of having a full breakfast or coffee/juice/muffins.

We are going from the 13th to the 23rd and paid 716$ for 4 return tickets. I bought my tickets back in April. I think it was 74$ one way and 84$ for the return. Very cheap!

We are staying at the Coronado Springs. It is the first time that we are going to Disney for multiple days and staying on site. We usually only go for 1-2 days.

Thanks for all the info!! WOW I'm super impressed!! I can't believe you even priced hotels, you are soooo sweet:flower3: !! DHis a nervous flier but he seems okay after reading your post:thumbsup2 :thanks:

I'm getting really excited now, at first the whole traveling thing to Syracuse felt kind of daunting, but now I think it will be fun!! We've been to Syracuse twice before but only to shop, so this will be better!

I see you live in Ottawa too! Wouldn't it be funny if you lived right around the corner.:upsidedow

We will try Syracuse for are September trip . We are saving 700$ . Ottawa is so expensive :headache: we live in Gatineau. ;)

We live in Kanata and are seriously considering Syracuse as well. The 3-hour drive is definitely worth it considering the savings on the airfare.
