syncing more than one ipod

since I don't know how to change thread titles I'm asking this under another title.

How can I sync more than 1 ipod to the same computer? I thought I read a thread that said if you sync more than 1 it will delete your playlists. (not sure if that's true)

Will I be able to copy songs from one playlists onto a new playlist or will I have add the songs again?

we sync 2 iPods, and 3 different iPhones through iTunes, and have no problem, the owner of each device manually manages what playlists they want.

Thanks - I don't know what I read obviously didn't read it correctly. I've been sitting here for hours with my new touch scared to hook it up just in case it was gonna delete the entire playlist.

Syncing more than one iPod on a computer is no problem. Using an iPod on more than one computer IS a problem. That really annoys me.

I have one computer(laptop) that I sync my iPod and iPod touch on regularly.
I really think you'll be ok, iTunes may ask you to i.d. your new touch.

Yup, just give your ipods and play lists different names and you'll be good to go. DD and I share an itunes account and needless to say our tastes are quite different. I hate wading through her stuff so I put all of mine in one huge play list called "All of Wen's Tunes." Then I make smaller play lists and drag and drop from the "All" list. So much easier then going through all her stuff. You can also make folders for your play lists so she has hers and I have mine, all neat and tidy.

I have 3 I-pods on my laptop with no problem. They're each labeled on the I-tunes account.

And the 1 computer kills me, especially when you can authorize multiple computers to the account.
