Symphony in the Sky - Star Wars Fireworks

Sound is not pumped out. Even in the Echo Lake area the sound wasn't pumped in. We could hear the music though, at Echo Lake.
So where is the best place to see the fireworks?

ETA: Whoops! I didn't see Robo's map right before mine because I had an old version of the thread in my browser :).

We were between A and B on the map. The speakers there were still pumping in Christmas music. But we could still hear the music well enough from Center Stage and Hollywood Blvd. We just couldn't make out the talking parts. As for viewing you can get some really nice spots to see between A and B.

The show is designed for best viewing on Hollywood Blvd. But it's crowded there. And parents often hoist kids up on their shoulders.

Any word on views from the dessert party area?

I haven't seen any, but it should be better than SWW or FSF for viewing. The stage doesn't block nearly as much as it did in the past. There's the stage and poles, no canopy!

Where would you suggest for a child who gets freaked out inpf the fireworks are too overhead? She hated the MK fireworks from fantasyland.

Went 1st night (Friday) open to everyone. Man it was cold, especially for a guy with just a tee shirt on.

Watched it from Hollywood Blvd. Very good, a little short.

My hope is that this becomes permanent so that I can see them later in the year when we go. It would mean doing away with the Frozen shows in the summer, which I would be more than okay with.

My son loves the music too - musician like his dad - but I am reading that some places do not have the music piped in as much as others.... where should we be to get the music too? Still not sure where exactly the fireworks go off... are they over Echo lake?

Yup.

Good views along the plum-colored pathway inside the area that I shaded in green on the map below.

But once you are out of the park (turnstyles) you don't get the Star Wars music score.
(Last night I was somewhat disappointed as I was standing infront of the Christmas tree, watching really nice fireworks with the normal park Christmas music blaring)

If you mean in DHS park, hard to find a bad location. We were behind the palm trees, sitting on wall. I was worried that palm trees would be in the way, but they weren't. They start at 11:00. Very spectacular.

Is it possible to just hop in the park to see the fireworks? We will be there on a Friday in mid January and were thinking of coming over to HS just for the fireworks. Is it easy enough to join the crowds on Hollywood Blvd if we don't care about the view? I would like to hear the music which is why I was leaning towards seeing it from inside the park.

they go off from behind GMR, and extend from the perimeter of Hyperion Theater (Frozen Sing Along) to above GMR and a bit more to the right of GMR.
My favorite spot, as I have said before, is Echo Lake because you don't have anything blocking your view, no buildings (which is what happens if you are on Hollywood Blvd)and no trees. You can hear the music and dialogue fine from there too.

Anyone know yet what they're going to do for the lower crowd late January time, in regards to scheduling? Currently the park is scheduled to close at 7:00 those days with Fantasmic at 7:00. I can't imagine they would run both the Star Wars Fireworks and Fantasmic at the same time, so what do you think they'll do? Extend park hours? If so when will they finally announce the changes?

fireworks are at 8pm until mid March, already announced through the dessert party. I'm thinking that they will extend park hours until 8pm

We have a short trip at the end of January. Do you think it is feasible to see the Star Wars fireworks at 8PM, then walk to Epcot for Illuminations at 9PM? Two adults, no kids, we can walk fast.
