Sword in the Stone

My DD age 5 pulled it out on 12/23/2010. My sons had tugged on it about 5 times that trip and we had anough pictures of them trying when we walked by again. My sons ran up and pulled on it - of course nothing. My little daughter walked up and pulled - expecting nithing I did nto have my camara out. And to everyones shock - it came up.

It was super cool. It did nto stay up long enough to get my camara out. It went up and down. I looked for a CM at a switch but nothing.

My son aged 4 pulled it out last November, he still talks about it now and is hoping for another go in a few weeks time.

My son...

Look for a CM near the former Tinkerbell's Treasures (now Castle Couture?) or Mickey's Philharmagic. It's operated by a CM that has a 'garage door opener' type device, and it's usually only done for kids. Our DDs 'pulled it out' during our 3/10 trip. I thanked the CM with a wink afterwards. :)

Hmmmm.... I have to disagree with this.

My son actually has the super powers that all others around him failed to possess.

As everyone has noted above it is done by a CM with a remote. It has a lot to do with timing but also it helps if you have a kid (they rarely let adults do it, bummer I know haha) that is especially well behaved! My sister was a CM and she was given this task multiple times. She said she loved it because she was careful about who she chose.... she certainly wasn't going to let the kid misbehaving and cutting in line or pushing be the one who gets that special moment.

Not sure I follow.... next thing you're going to tell me is Mickey isn't real, Tinkerbell can't fly, and Nemo was never lost!

Blasphamy!

Hopefully we'll be able to pull the sword out next trip. I have a lot of fun trying to do it.

Hmm, maybe next time I do a Disney birthday we should do MK instead of Epcot. Maybe then I can pull the sword.

I'm actually working on a story that has the sword in it as a main element. In my story, there's a kid who can pull the sword out completely, and the villians want to capture the kid. Why?

Because they need the sword's magical ablities to achieve total domination! HaHa! :lmao:

Yes it will come out but not all the way. I think its compleely random

Yes, it will only come "out" part-way, but, no, it is not at all "random."

It is controlled by a CM.

Last year after a BBB make over (my daughters make-over not mine ;)), my DD and her BFF both pulled the sword from the stone. At first it scared them- they were never able to pull it out before....

So both girls got to pull it out. When my DD BBFs brother tried moments later, he wasn't able to pull it out. He thought it was the funniest thing!
