Switzerland/Italy question!

I'm doing some hunting as well, but does anyone know if there's such a thing as a day tour to the Alps leaving from Lugano Switzerland?

Why don't you check with a travel agent. I believe there should be a tour to Zermatt or such. Switzerland isn't really that big.

I've been looking around online, but all I've been finding with travel agents is for full trips. Nothing for a day trip. The only thing I have to plan is one day in the Alps. The rest of the time is already planned with day tours offered by the conference. But the conference doesn't offer any day tours to the Alps and I really want to see those while we're there. But I don't want to go by myself and DH and everyone else from the school will be booked during that time. I may be able to get a few other spouses together for a group visit, though.

Of course in Lugano there will be a tourist info office which might have what you are looking for - but I know you want to plan it ahead of time. I meant to contact a travel agent about trying to find the day trip for you. They can do that too.

Don't know. I haven't had any experience with AAA. Sorry.

Unfortunately, they can't do anything less than 3-day trips including air.
