Switching to concierge during stay

We are staying at AKL later this year and have toyed with the idea of concierge. We are staying for 2 weeks and think that the extra cost for 14 days is not justified.

Has anyone booked a stay with non-concierge moving to concierge part way into the stay?

Has anyone arranged this once they arrived at the resort?

Was it an easy move and the right decision?

And are doing it again the next trip.

I save the conceirge stay for the end of the trip. We are more likely to be in our rooms, enjoying the resort at that point...so more likely to use the services.

We start low and go high...then you won't be dissapointed in the moderates...or wherever you might be staying.

I don't know about arranging it while there. I like to pre-plan everything! I have seen people do it though. There was a couple who decided to change resorts....the staff was very helpful to them.

I did it last January as I couldn't get concierge for all of the nights during our short stay. We loved it! We really wouldn't have used all the concierge has to offer our first couple of days, anyways. Since it was a short stay, I did request, and received my same room for the entire trip. This meant that I stayed on the fourth floor savannah view. I really didn't want to pack and unpack for just a few days. We loved our stay, and I would do a split stay again for either a long stay as you described, or if I couldn't get concierge for all of my nights for a short stay. We had five nights. First two reg savannah view, next two concierge, last one was reg savannah view. I stayed in the same room for the entire time. I could only get concierge with the AP rate for the middle of my stay.

I was there post 9-11 and was upgraded for free, just by asking.
They resorts were only 1/2 full
